I bought a lot of Generations figures just before Christmas that kept me going for a while. I'll have to have a think about what I've bought specifically since January.
MP Wheeljack MP Star Saber Generations Rhinox Generations Brainstorm Combiner Wars Silverbolt Firefly Drag Strip Skydive Leader Megatron Leader Ultra Magnus and God alone knows how much gear for Toy-fu which doesn't really count.
Third party wise... Fanstoys Soar/Swoop MMC Hexatron/Sixshot (he was on special offer) KFC Transistor/Blaster and Rewind Toyworld Side Load/Wideload Toyworld Shinebug/Goldbug Badcube Wardog/Warpath
More than I was expecting.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on Wardog Nickos, when you have time inbetween lasering things and reenergizing your flux capacitors and such.

If Tiny Titans count. I'd say over 100 If it is actual Transforming Transformers, I'd say 1. (Generations Arcee).

As of last week my TF spending for the year topped 2K and I passed the 75 items mark!
There's a reasonable chance I'll get to 2.5k and 100 items by year end.

Anything vintage and unusual, or all new stuff?

Mainly new stuff. It's about £150 everytime a combiner wars wave drops!
Not bought much older stuff this year. G1 Sunstreaker and Grimlock recently. Armada Megatron and Micron Legend Shockwave (Tidelawave) earlier in the year.
I'll publish the full list at year end.

I thought I'd pulled back in the second half of this year but it seems not. I'm going to have to have a firm talk with myself about toy buying I think. I'll be over a hundred very soon. If I work out what that's cost I will scare the shit out of myself (although to be fair a good percentage came through ebay recycling).

Four (massively outweighed by the number I've sold): 1) Brainstorm 2) Budora 3) Guren Dragotron 4) Trypticon, god help me (3) is in the to-sell pile, (2) might make it there as well. 1) Brainstorm 2) Budora 3) Guren Dragotron4) Trypticon 5) MP-18B Bluestreak 6) UW Superion 7) MP-10 Optimus Prime Much more selling in the meantime, so a light year so far but those that I have bought have been on the pricey side! -Jim

To meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Da na, na na, na na, nanana! Da na, na na, na na, nananan! So you think you can shame me with everything that I've buyyyy-eyyyeeed..! Okay, I'm stalling. Right. Let's see... Masterpiece Sunstorm Chomp and Stomp Grimlock Universe Legends Ramjet Universe Legends Thrust Universe Legends Air Raid Universe Legends Blades Universe Legends Skydive CW Optimus Prime AoE One Step Lockdown Cloud Rodimus RiD Warrior Optimus Prime CW Legends Thundercracker Generations Whirl CW Alpha Bravo AoE Battler Galvatron Generations Brainstorm MP Star Sabre CW Firefly Universe Night Slash Cheetor RTS Perceptor CW Bombshell Oh gods. That may only be 21, but this is an unusually active year for me so far... Oh, sweet Primus on a bicycle. I'm *so* glad that this thread has re-surfaced because now, before the year is out, I can evaluate how I'm doing with my purchases, and see if I've been better. Er. Well, since then, I've picked up: RiD(1.0) Wind Sheer Robot Masters Air Hunter CW Legends Skywarp CW Leader Thundercracker CW Legends Rodimus CW Leader Megatron Combiner Hunters Arcee Combiner Hunters Windblade Combiner Hunters Chromia CW Ironhide CW Sunstreaker CW Mirage CW Ultra Magnus Generations Doubledealer Legends Blackarachnia And not to mention Animated Leader Bulkhead, who I picked up for a custom. And the Shapeways replacement head for CW Megatron. And TAV Drift and Jazz are pending. And Devastator's on his way. So that's 15 more. With 3 (well, 8) incoming. So an extra 23 by the end of the year. On top of any more that might take my fancy. At least 44 this year. 44. I... need to be a lot more careful in 2016, I think. And a lot more choosy. *looks at MP and Titans line-up* Shit.

I shudder to think what I've spent since I started in May. I got rid of almost £1500 is the space of a week last month, not just on TFs mind you.

Replacement Battle Core Op and second Blast Off, destined for Galvatronus or Nemesis Prime, ordered. Takes my TF spending for the year to over £2.5K Out of curiosity, because I expect this question will come up in the next month or so, if you're making a total count of 'toys bought this year' would you: count Minimus Ambus as a separate figure to Magnus? count headmaster heads/targetmaster partners/legends mini partners as separate figures? count full tilt and/or brunt as separate to Trypticon? discount combined modes (like Superion) as they are essentially the others put together? count 3P figures as a Transformer purchase?

No count headmaster heads/targetmaster partners/legends mini partners as separate figures? No. But the new Titanmasters sold by themselves do count. count full tilt and/or brunt as separate to Trypticon? No discount combined modes (like Superion) as they are essentially the others put together? It's either Superion (1 toy) or Silverbolt, Firefly, Skydive, Airaid & Slingshot. Not both. count 3P figures as a Transformer purchase? NO! A Transformers toy has to be made by Hasbro or Takara Tomy. That saying a separate total of 3p Stuff would be a good idea. Bear with as I bounce this to somewhere more convenient....

Cor! you're strict. So basically what we're saying here is an individual purchase, rather than a sum total of actual transforming figures.
Not that I bought it, but what about something like the Platinum Dinobot set? is that +5 or +1 on the count? and a Unite Warriors set? is Devvy one or six figures?
Oh! and what about Deployer Drift & Jetstorm? Jetstorm is his own individual transforming figure, in fact he's bigger than the Slipstream you buy alone. That's a set of two in the same way the Dinobots are a set of five.
And going back a bit, does an Armada era minicon three pack count as one or three?

I've thought about this in the past when contemplating counting my collection. For me the difficulty or confusion is always am I counting purchaces or characters.
I usually work on can a toy be bought on its own, if it can, I genrally count it individually even if I bought it in a set. So a superion giftset is 1 purchase but 5 characters.
The cassettes and later the micromasters were the original difficulties. Only available as sets, but individual characters. Again individual characters but one purchase.
Most of the "Masters" lines I consider as one purchase and one character/set even though each has at least 2 characters per package, but Kup, Hot Rod,etc muddy those waters a bit.

Dinobots 5 Unite Warriors 5 Devastator 6 Drift & Jetstorm 2 Armada Minicon pack 3 Cybertron Minicon pack 2 Soundwave and Buzzsaw 2 Things like head, power and brain masters are part of the robot so don't count separately. Minicons that fulfil that function do count separately cos all the other Minicons do. YMMV.

Easy to answer. In one column you put how many robot characters you acquired this year. In the other column you total up how many pennies you spent to get them. You can have a third column for any items gifted to you and a fourth if you bought any for other people. Third party toys are not actual Transformers in the same way that Lego isn't so can go in another column and counted as seperate.
When it comes to 2016 I suspect my TF spend will be £0.00 if the new Star Wars film is any good. I am already lost to the Force more than I have been for quite some time but if that film is even moderately entertaining I am vanishing down that Sarlac pit for quite some time. I will have no money for Transformers! Send help.

The 7 AOE dinobots, the Platinum 5 pack, the 5 pack G1 Platinum repaint, the Now and Then 2 packs of Strafe and Slug, and additional G1 Slog, the 2 pack Evolution of Grimlock set, the Grimlock and Silver Knight Optimus Prime set and MP Grimlock. There may be others. Although given how much of a G1 nut I am, dinobots especially, the only one that's remotely G1 accurate is the MP Grimlock. I'm off for a week now so my plan is to get storage shelves in and organise the collection properly. Do Kreo sets count?
