Spoiler *Looks to Rodimus* "You have done well.."
*Sniggers to herself as she turns away from Rodimus*
"...Windblade"
Love it.

I don't understand - at what point in the story did Windblade stop hating Combiners and decide to like them?
If it wasn't for the scene of Devastator combining, I'd wager that the writers had no idea what combiners were or that they were made up of robots that combined.
The cliffhanger was genuinely the most terrifying, chilling moment in Transformers history as we the audience are threatened with a follow-up series.

I got there. I really want to be positive. Not sure how though. I'm not even sure if it's 'better than nothing'. And I think that's it. It's actually *worse* than nothing. At no point does the series actually make use of the whole "combiner gimmick". So it fails to sell the toys, and fails to tell a decent story. There is no need for this series to exist whatsoever. On the plus side, we have the Last Knight to look forward to now!!!!!1!

I thought fishing all day without catching anything would be the worst thing that happened today, turns out I was wrong.
Why does Windblade sounds like shes giving birth after she's had the Michael Bay treatment and brought back to life without any real explanation?
And 'The Titans have returned'? Don't even fuckin think about following that up with a sequel, Machinima.

So it fails to sell the toys, and fails to tell a decent story. There is no need for this series to exist whatsoever. I wonder if it's that the budget wasn't big enough to cope with animating the individual team members and the combination process. Two teams is ten characters to animate, plus the combined forms - so instead they went for popular characters that sadly don't have an awful lot to do with this specific toy line. I don't get why at the end the combiners suddenly become this revered separate race of Transformers who walk off into the sunset to lead their own lives, like the Dinobots do in AoE. They're Transformers, they're part of the society they're suddenly leaving. They're made out to be like wise old sages who know they have to go and be hermits somewhere, when back at the start of the story they were portrayed as teenagers belting seven bells out of each other. I also think bringing in Metroplex was a mistake. A lot of this story has relied on assumed knowledge, but at the same time hasn't been clear on what exactly its basing itself on. So Windblade/Metroplex is a given for comic readers, but that bit won't make sense to anyone else and it just feels like a major cop out ending to suddenly have this super Transformer come and save the day when he isn't even mentioned until he's needed. This kinda feels like a greatest hits album, but done by a cover band who aren't quite sure what they're doing.

Yep, I had no clue what the Metroplex stuff was. So that's from recent comics then? Is he just a big hand? Is he a robot who turns into that building everyone was round? Is he the whole city? If he is a giant robot why does he not fully transform? How can he bring robots back from the dead?
How did the Combiners come back to life at the end? What even IS a Combiner?

I'm glad the Metroplex thing confused more people than me. It seemed to be his consciousness was inside the city but couldn't work out if that meant he was the city or a building or something else. Is it like Unicron in Prime where his being is the core so he can be used to turn things into parts of him?

The writing and story was really bad fanfic level wank. The whole combiner made of combiners is right up there with the Dinobots forming into The Beast levels of awfulness.

The Beast was worse. Starcombi was just inane. It cam from nowhere, did nothing and had no consequences except to bring Computron and Menasor back to life and make Menasor and Devastator nice somehow.
I hate this show. No, that's not fair. I hate thinking about and trying to understand this show.
Titans Return, anyone?

Rodimus, SS and whoever on the council. Prime, Megs, Windblade and 4 combiners. That was the cast. The constructicons got show individually so 16 models needed. If the other 3 combiners had got individual models it would have doubled to 32 (31?). Essentially it would have doubled the cost and pre-production time. Considering this thing barely made it out while CW can be thought of as a going concern that call was probably wise. If this had actually made kids want any of these toys they would already have been pretty disappointed to find most no longer available.
