Does anyone worry about the height of characters in other things or just with Transformers? In the extended cut of the latest X-Men movie, young Prof. X calls Wolverine the "tall, angry fellow with the contentious hair" and according to the audio commentary the line was cut from the theatrical release because they knew fans would be enraged by the drawing attention to the fact that Hugh Jackman is over six feet while Wolverine is short in the comics. Does anyone worry about the height of characters in other things or just with Transformers? I'm genuinely perplexed about height now being 'a thing'. -Ralph Good question... I'll have a think about that. In TF terms, certain characters demand a certain size. Would you want Bumblebee to be the same size as Optimus Prime?

As they are roughly the same size Action Masters can interact fine.

Does anyone worry about the height of characters in other things or just with Transformers? I'm genuinely perplexed about height now being 'a thing'. -Ralph It only bothers me in certain situations. Those being: -The hypocracy of the bayverse. -Fans whom do not comprehend exactly how HUGE 50 feet is (used to know a group of idiots who insisted optimus was this) -when they get blown up to huge sizes for "artistic value," such as to have a teeny tiny human sitting on their shoulder. -And when toys are just absurdly misscaled. I think the best example of this is Combiner Wars Aerialbots plus Powerglide. PG just looks absolutely rediculous in a line up with the rest, given his alt mode is a warthog. And this is a problem with most Gen new Legends, honestly. Swerve, Prime, Bee, Powerglide... They're just rediculously tiny. So yeah. For the most part I go with "this feels like this character should be this size" more than I worry about exact sizes. Though I would like to have ONE continuity where there is a concentrated effort to be true to scale, and no mass shifting. Bayverse is not this, they're honestly even more extreme in their sizing, and very inconsistant. Plus they're a major user of mass shifting, which they claim they don't do (hence the hypocracy comment)

I'm genuinely perplexed about height now being 'a thing'. -Ralph I think part of it is that most other toy lines are based around humanoid figures, so they have a natural scale that isn't ever questioned. Like you wouldn't expect Yoda to be the same height as Luke if you're buying black series figures. Height and scale are obviously important to collectors because toy companies keep to scales and advertise then as such. There was massive uproar with Character when they moved the Doctor Who line from a five inch scale to 3.75. I would say it does come from collectors more than kids though.

Fans whom do not comprehend exactly how HUGE 50 feet is (used to know a group of idiots who insisted optimus was this) Prime is probably the easiest toy to work out the real life height of: robot height = cab height + cab length Are there any figures on truck cab dimensions out there? Similarly his Powermaster form is effectively the length go his trailer plus a bit extra, say half the cab height, for his head.

I competely agree, there. I don't know exact dimensions, but I'm sure they're easy enough to find for someone slightly less lazy than I. However, me dad's a truckdriver, and I been around trucks all my life. He never drove cab overs, but I'm familier with them. The cab portion is probably around the ten foot mark. The rear towing section that would form the lower legs is probably around eight feet. Allow three or four feet for the thighs. 20'-25' is within a completely reasonable size range calculation. I tend to go with 22' myself.
Powermaster is a bit trickier, because box trailers have a range in sizes. But average is 40'. So PM supermode, going by average would be 43'-46'.

Reminds me of the oversized Star Wars figures.
I would buy a Powerglide like that.
