He has been silent for a while now. Maybe he murdered all the Peaky Blinders hat wearers onboard.

I got home.
Journey was Mossley to Stalybridge Stalybridge to Manchester Picadilly Manchester Picadilly to Edinburgh Edinburgh to either Inverkeithing and a tenner taxi to Dunfermline or a straight train to Dunfermline.
My connections meant - I had five minutes between my train arriving in Stalybridge and my Stalybridge train departing. This looked like a challenge when it ended up that my first train was ten minutes late and the departing train was on time. Thankfully it got screwed up too and was eight minutes late. So I could get on that. The problem was my train at Picadilly to Edinburgh was due to depart 11 minutes from the scheduled time my Stalybridge one arrived. Thankfully it was six minutes late.
Rather nicely it made it's time back and I was able to hop on the train straight to Dunfermline thus saving me a tenner.
Though for some time I was cursing he who causes the travel chaos!

The Friday before the bank holiday .....
Andu & Ralph travelling from Scotland to Birmingham .....
Phil travelling from London to Swindon, and then (possibly Friday, possibly Saturday) onto Birmingham .....
Karl doing Northampton to Birmingham and back Friday AND Saturday .....
Martin & Stuart travelling from Cardiff & Worcester to Birmingham and back Saturday.....
Pinwig and Browny87 on the roads.....
AndyK travelling by means unknown .....
I think the phrase we're searching for is "Let's sit back and watch the hilarious consequences"

AndyK travelling by means unknown ..... It has started well. I foolishly opted for the Megabus. Certain projects over ran and I missed the first Megabus. It left the station as my local bus entered. Hopping on to a train to Leeds doubled the cost of the journey, but got me there in plenty to catch the second Megabus, which I am now on and about 40 minutes from Birmingham. Hes says realising this has doomed him to horrific road chaos.

As detailed at tmukhub.proboards.com/post/280737/threadOn train at 16:12, in at Cheltenham Spa at 16:50, on the 17:00 back to Swindon and it was an HST. At which point this happened www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-39757840My train pulled into Kemble on schedule, ish at 17:50. It left at 20:05. It then spent 15 mins tantalising waiting at a red in sight of Swindon waiting for a clear platform. Got off train at about 20:35

Train fun tonight. In London for concert knowing the last train home would mean a bus replacement extending the journey by half an hour.
I had everything timed, knew when we'd have to leave the o2 to get the penultimate train instead, but Mrs P wanted to stay for the encore. When we left the o2 I was convinced we'd miss it by a matter of minutes, but having run for it, even up all the escalators, we just made it. Should now be home an hour and fifteen minutes earlier than I was dreading. With no bus!
