I'm waiting for Turnbull to blink first so we can all find out.
The remastered versions of DW are owned by BBC Worldwide and not the rest of the BBC (as an aside). This is why clips of old Who can often look crappy (even on BBC shows) when shiny restored copies are available: they have to be ordered from Worldwide.

I'd also like to know if the site supports deinterlaced video. The likes of Itunes don't which is why videos on there don't have Vidfire applied. The DVD's of DW Web of Fear and Enemy of the World may be bare-bones but have higher quality video playback.

And for the first time Pinwig is interested in this new fangled download service. There has been a slight, almost imperceptible shift in perspective. The wheels want to turn.
So, BBC store then. Is it DRM free? What video format? Resolution? It's download and keep isn't it? Not stream?

Hrrmmm.
I must look and see if anyone's yet written a convertor so downloaded files can be converted to DVD. I might buy these a test to see how good proper video looks in whatever deinterlaced format they've chosen to use for this.

I haven't used the BBC Store. I don't like the 'download to an app' type affair. However, I will trying it out when THE POWER OF THE DALEKS animation is up.
I have never seen The Adventure Game.

In fairness it only aired up until 1986, and I don't have a recollection of the BBC One airings myself - only the BBC2 ones, and back in the day BBC2 was very much a minority channel and a lot of people didn't pay it any attention at all.
(Looking on Wikipedia I see that one of my strongest memories of the show comes from an officially missing episode. Typical.)

You'll still be able to watch your purchases until November?! That's fucking rubbish! They should be damn well offering DRM free downloads of what you've bought if they're pulling the plug.

The popularity and cheapness of streaming services will not have helped the Store. There is still a market, however, for buying digital downloads which is where the service really fell down. Folk want to buy files they can port to wherever they want, not to buy something that can only be viewed through an app. That's a rental model, not a sales model.
I asked for a refund and a few days later got a standard email that said I couldn't have it. So I have made a complaint.
