The little grey test shot photo looks to have normal feet so I guess its either:
- an alternative foot transformation for a more dynamic manga type pose - used to combine with Godbomber while keeping some articulation. - Takara plan to use it in a future repaint/remould. The rear view really reminds me of Fire Convoy, though that would be a massive remould.

Yeah, I made the right call going Takara with this one.

That's not a bad job at all. They've made rather more effort to look like the Godmaster is attached than Hasbro did with replicating Optimus' powermaster anyway. I like the different cab as well - it feels less like an attempt to do a stylized "roadkill eye view" of a cab and more like a proper truck.

Now I... I actually liked the angry cab look. And I'm also not so sure about the feet, because... what *is* that about? (Save from all the options provided above.) And I really hope that the Titanmaster face still looks like Marvel #1 page 1 guy, otherwise I'll be very upset.
Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut... Gods, that just looks so damned nice. Especially in robot mode. (Feet notwithstanding.) I've dropped a pre-order on this one. Because hey, maybe in a year's time Hasbro PM Prime'll be clearancing in UK toy stores, and I can pick one of those up, too; but there'll be no such luck with Super Ginrai.
Balletmaster Prime, you will be mine. Although I'm going to have to wait. Dammit.

It has been a few years since Ralph imported a toy so Phil will now explain how Ralph can get Ginrai.

£60 for a Leader? Jog on! I shall pass and be content with PM Prime then.

£60 for a leader is a bit steep, it's true. But considering that that has extra retooling, and it's an import, the additional £15 isn't *too* bad.
But it is still way more expensive than a toy should be.

It's a good price given the Japanese Price and exchange rates.
Look at the Titanmaster: They've gone the full Hi-Q on it!

Typically after preordering Ginrai from Kapow, I stopped into Smyths at the Fort today to find Blaster and PM Prime sitting there. Seeing PM Prime in person I immediately convinced myself the differences were sufficient to justify owning both versions. And I wonder why I end up going hungry sometimes...
The pair are cracking toys, and I definitely like PM Prime more than I did from the pictures. My four year old is also enjoying swapping the heads around (Nightbeatimus Prime is currently a favourite) and playing with the tape door on Blaster (he's fairly quickly picked up on the similarity to Soundwave and has dubbed Blaster's tape accessory thing "Laserbeak" and keeps commenting on the similarities between PM Prime and my CW Ultra Magnus. Smart lad).

This new version does look way better than the other version. Much better cab/body. Legs look terrible though.

I think Bogatan is right. If you look at the grey prototype pictures there is one with him with normal looking feet. The odd looking transformed version makes him taller than the Hasbro Prime, which they seem to be using as a selling point. Normal feet probably equals Hasbro height. They're trying for the look of the original with those odd legs aren't they? he has no real feet to speak of.

DAMMIT. Why still no pictures of his Titanmaster? I want to know if Balletmaster Prime can also still be Postmaster Prime!
And those feet still really annoy me. I know that Takara are slavish in their adherence to G1, but... The original Powermaster Prime's feet weren't a deliberate aesthetic choice, I'm pretty sure. They were just a limitation of mold technology and budget at the time. Idiots.
Still, I'm not cancelling my pre-order. Because the rest is too nice. Idiot.

That's what I meant. Yes, I'd seen the Hi-Q deco - which was just yet another reason to pre-order. :-)

Honestly I feel the changes aren't for the better. I like the new cab face, though it looks really wrong with the same sides. I also like the proper hands. But the feet, and the chest piece completely kill it for me. Those upper sides stick up and out way too far, making the truck face sit too deep, and look too hidden. And the "engine block" details kinda feel all over the place, and while may be more G1 accurate, it feels too poorly defined compaired to TR.
I'm happy enough with my Titans Return version.
On a side note, if you put Clobber head on him, he feels much more Marveliscious. It gives him sunken in red eyes surrounded by black.
