Oh Primus wept, he wept BLOOD. Ohhh... bloomoin' 'eck. And Max is kinda IDW-styled too. I'm doomed. So much for my plans to get married in the next year or so. Who needs a wife, anyway? Fortress Maximus'll do!

I'm happy with Warden. If ever a cheap little Metroplex shows up.... I have no space to keep two foot giants...

I have no need for an oversized Fort Max when I have the more appropriate Toyworld version, unless they do something different. But happy for those that want it.

I was enjoying the Toyworld Headmasters because they were fitting the characters to a sensible scale, but if Hasbro can do this (if they're doing this) and give us a Fort Max that actually works with the other toys I'd be over the moon. The G1 Max just doesn't work. Gen Metroplex works for me because he is an auxiliary character - heavy firepower, the guy at the back. Max is a leader and needs to be able to integrate better with his troops so it doesn't work for me if every time he moves he's stepping on them without realising. If we had a Leader Max & Scorponok with Voyagers for the Headmasters and Deluxes for the Targetmasters... Perfect. That would be an awesome line.

Oh right. Well that's obvious then isn't it. Clearly a remould.
Okay, well, I'm still in if they're going to give us the full suite of Headmasters. Give us a range as comprehensive as Combiner Wars. This would be a good chance to balance up the height difference between Fort Max and Scorponok, but they're never going to do Scorponok at Metroplex's height.
If this is a one off to get more use out of Metroplex's mould then... hmm. I like sets. Alone he isn't a set.

Once again I feel I must put on my hat of hypocrisy. (Does it ever come off? Only when I shower.) I really didn't like the Metroplex mold... but I think it might work as a Fortress Maximus.
Why? Because, in my mind, anyway, Metroplex was meant to be a hulking, gigantic walking city; his depiction in Fall of Cybertron is pretty spot on. The Titan mold, however, does not give that impression. It's too lanky, not bulky and big-looking enough. Maximus, on the other hand, although being a baseformer is never really that massive. Except when he is. The thing with Max, though, is that his scale's all over the place in the cartoons and comics, so this mold could work better for him. Of course, I'll reserve full judgement until I see the actual photos, but I'm hopeful for now.
But whatever the case, they're also doing the double-headmaster thing, which is never not awesome. And a proper Cerebros-style head. I mean, come on!

Hmmmm not sure how I feel about a simple remold/repaint. I too find Metroplex too 'lanky'.

The diagram does make him look a bit chunkier. The legs are the same, but there's more bulk in the waist and the chest, and Max has the ramps hanging off the back of him. This one looks like he's got the treads behind his head too. I think he'll look bulkier.

Not pleased with Max being so huge as it's way out of character. That very much depends on which fiction you're following. ;-)

There's the big question!
I've seen some people calling fake on the picture sighting differences with the wire diagram quoted above and that the pic is labelled Titan Wars rather than Titans Returns.
I'm not so sure.

For max is supposed to be a metroplex retool, right?
There are too many differences in these two to make sense. And I mean fundamental important differences, such as the hips and entire shape of the full torso have compketely different proportions (even accounting the squashed mature of the max image). There are SO many differences, that it seems contrary to remold.
Also to date, hasbro has never really changed a transformation alt mode scheme on this level. This kind of "alternate alt mode" is much more fanwank territory, like the CW Ultra Magnus "base mode."

If the image is real, what can we infer from the qty listed? 9k worldwide? 3k us?

I really like the look of that. And I think that the image is actually slightly deformed, hence the disparity between this picture and the previous wireframes. It looks like it's been squashed down vertically, hence why it looks squatter.
That said... It's also missing the huge, IDW-esque treads on the back. But then, who knows how accurate those wireframes were meant to be?
Still, even if it's not real, it's an interesting take on what a TW Max *could* look like.

So Hasbro knows who to call to the manager's office? -Nick Yup, this chap www.transformersasia.com/interview/interview_detail/112For max is supposed to be a metroplex retool, right? There are too many differences in these two to make sense. And I mean fundamental important differences, such as the hips and entire shape of the full torso have compketely different proportions (even accounting the squashed mature of the max image). There are SO many differences, that it seems contrary to remold. The pieces you mention are amongst the many new ones changed to look like Max. The arms and the feet still look the same. Also to date, hasbro has never really changed a transformation alt mode scheme on this level. This kind of "alternate alt mode" is much more fanwank territory, like the CW Ultra Magnus "base mode." Generations Sandstorm. CW Air Raid. CW First Aid. CW Swindle. What's shown in that picture is achievable with Metroplex. Won't look so good but you can do it. And from what's shown you can see how to get to his battle station/ship mode easy enough. If the image is real, what can we infer from the qty listed? 9k worldwide? 3k us? I think we might be looking at an exclusive version of the main Max toy. Exclusive Sword. Exclusive Titan Master. Premium G1 deco and labels. And, as the interview linked above states, David Chua has charge of the Asia exclusive lines. So if it's the first Titan Wars exclusive that'd all make sense.
