Is that a reused Metroplex part as the ramp on the back of the arm? It is, it's his shins. The other half of the ramp is still on his shins, partially obscured by the cannons! The shoulder joint does nothing in any of the modes!

Aha. The TFW2005 thread has now been updated to feature pictures of Cerebros. An animation-accurate Cerebros. I am one happy llama now.

Gonna ruin it for you, but he has hands dangling free out in the open in both alt modes. WHAT IS THIS MADNESS!!
Yes I complained about the same thing for Metroplex, but was hoping the remould may have tweaked this a little. At least with the colours here they don't stand out quite as much.

I'm extremely happy with my Toyworld Max as my G1 Fort Max. Much more appropriate size. However, I'm tempted to get this for RiD.
I do wish it were more G1 in city mode, but less G1 in "ship" mode. I never liked that Max's secondary weapons platform mode was basically laying down and stretched out. It was lazy them, but unforgivable now. It'd have been really nice for this to have had the arms, or at least the ramps come together for one cohesive flightdeck, and turn him into a proper and intimidating aircraft carrier. However, I loved that the city mode felt like an actual building complex. This loses that almost completely, and feels more like a weapons platform.
I will admit that these are just minor nitpicks. They're not a make-or-break deal.

Yeah, that's true enough. Max was the only city bot, in my mind, to ever look like an actual city, or at least a tenement block, rather than just a collection of ramps and guns. But as you say, no deal breaker. 'specially not for me.

I see those 5mm peg holes on the arms, inherited from Metroplex, and keep thinking about plugging in the Titans guns with the seats and seating the Titanmasters in them.

Max has always been more destroyer than aircraft carrier for me, hence the pair of twin cannons. T30 Metroplex is more like an aircraft carrier with the runways. You should get a better deck out the front of this Max though: IIRC T30 Metroplex's lower legs slide together bellow the knees.

I can't believe how different Fort Max is to Metroplex, and how much better than Metroplex he looks! I've never had much of a desire to own Metroplex 'cos I always felt he looked too skinny and lanky. But Fort Max is one solid looking figure.

Max has a new panel on the side of his arm where Metroplex's fold out gun was. Does it still open and what's underneath?

Max has a new panel on the side of his arm where Metroplex's fold out gun was. Does it still open and what's underneath? That's a good point. Metroplex's bays and seats were all designed for Legends scale figures. Max's equivalents will have to be scaled down for head sized peoples.

But behind the millimetres Phil speaks of much scale related fun. The thing about Metroplex and the Legends is that the Legends are still way too big to really look like they live inside Metroplex. The Titanmasters on the other hand will come much closer to looking like they're supposed to live in Max.

Japanese version gets ordered the moment Kapow put it up.
It has the sword.
And a Japanese soundbox.
The only thing that worries me is the gun. It's in the US box artwork, but we've not seen it with the toy. Does it exist? The Japanese sihlouette doesn't show one either.

Oh! I hadn't even thought of that. Will he? Will he do you think? I would pay the premium for that. TAV33 just talks Japanese. There's no English mixed into it I can discern.
See now what someone needs to do is produce a sound chip that uses soundbites from the dub. Ahaha! Imagine that.
