It's the time of year when relatives drop lists on you with hopeful expectation, but I'm out of my area with DC Collectables stuff. Can anyone point me at where I can find Arkham City series 2 figures for less than a small fortune? Specifically the Riddler and Hush.

This is a good idea for a thread.
I would like ideas. My family (parents and sister of similar age) all claim to want nothing for Christmas and have no interests. "Too much stuff!" they say. "Please, we need to get rid of stuff not get more." But I like buying stuff. What is a good gift that I can get them that won't be seen as 'stuff'. But also is a tangible thing to mess about with at Christmas.
(It pains me that Lego would not be a welcomed gift!!!)

There are millions of those aren't there. Why isn't there a Transformers one? What would be the locations?

Really! I should have guessed. No, I don't want one thanks. Monopoly is Monopoly no matter how you dress it.

So given the quest is the quest I now have a couple of these DC Direct/Collectables figures. Aren't they good! Really nicely sculpted 7 inch figures, loads of detail. They put Marvel Select figures to shame. I've always thought Marvel can't quite get their figures right, these I think are proof. I'd love an Iron Man or a Thor done this well.

Yes the couple of DC Direct figures I have are very good indeed. I get confused though with DC figures, there seems to be several different lines, whereas at least Marvel have just Legends and Select.

From what I could see DC Direct has become DC Collectibles, same line, but then with these figures I don't even know the characters I'm buying, let alone who's making them.

I've got a mint on card Shakespeare action figure that came from the Globe you know. I couldn't believe what I was seeing when I bought that. Complete with book and quill accessories!

I nearly bought that when I was at the Globe. So adorable. The fact that I didn't is probably why I bought a little grey rat soft-toy in the Falkirk Wheel's sale in October. (I call him Reginald, and he appears to be an "acquisitions specialist" by trade...) Karl

You better believe it baby... That is stupendous. Absolutely brilliant thing. Now what we need is a Francis Bacon/Shakespeare versus pack - "Duel of the Wordsmiths". Karl

Alas I did not see figure when I was at the Globe. I must get a Plague Rat at some point though.

No. If you want a good family game consider Dixit, Ticket to Ride Europe, Pandemic, Carcassonne, Blokus/Gemblo... List goes on if you want more recommendations based on a particular theme?
