Probably the usual distributor shenanigans - forcing cinemas to show terrible movies under threat of withholding guaranteed money spinners.

1: Room. 2: The Big Short. 3: Joy. 4: Creed. 5: Trumbo: A very polished and enjoyable film with silky smooth performances throughout. As an aside, an amazing amount of smoking! 6: Spotlight. 7: 13 Hours: The secret soldiers of Benghazi. 8: Jem and the Holograms: Perfectly fine for what it is. 9: Youth. 10: Our Brand is Crisis. 11: The 5th Wave. 12: The Revenant (IMAX). 13: Dad’s Army (2016).

I can't stand the comic character so I have no interest in a film version.

I'm of a similar opinion to be honest. I will probably watch it when it comes on telly or somesuch, but I'm not going to the cinema for it. Doesn't appeal at all.

I had it filed under "yeah, sure, if I have time" until I saw the trailer in front of "13 Hours". My complete lack of any reaction to the trailer whatsoever moved it into the "I really can't be bothered with the effort of going" category.
It isn't that it even irritates me, compared to such monumental idiocy as the adaptation of "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" whose bus ads make me grimace in pain. I just don't find myself motivated to care. Like "Batman vs Superman: Justice League Part Zero: The Prologue" I just find myself in a state of complete apathy about "Deadpool"

New Captain America trailer. It's awesome but as spoilerific as the Superman/Batman trailers. Your choice. Martin

1: Room. 2: The Big Short. 3: Joy. 4: Creed. 5: Trumbo. 6: Spotlight. 7: Truth: A good companion piece to watch with 'Spotlight'. 8: 13 Hours: The secret soldiers of Benghazi. 9: Jem and the Holograms. 10: London Has Fallen: BOOOOOOOOM!!!!! 11: The Finest Hours. 12: Secret in their Eyes. 13: Youth. 14: Our Brand is Crisis. 15: The 5th Wave. 16: The Witch: Tries very hard but alas the final scenes are hilarious. 17: The Divergent Series: Allegiant (IMAX): Dull surprise. 18: Goosebumps. 19: The Revenant (IMAX). 20: Dad’s Army (2016). 21: Triple 9. 22: Anomalisa: Finely crafted on a technical level but artistically horrible. 23: Hail, Caesar!: Vanity project crap.

I look forward to your thoughts on the Eddie The Eagle movie. I guess it'll be like Cool Runnings, but as a classic British underdog story with Wolverine instead of John Candy.

I still enjoyed it though! 13: 10 Cloverfield Lane (IMAX): Decent shlock, let down only by the title. 14: Secret in their Eyes. 15: Youth. 16: Our Brand is Crisis. 17: The 5th Wave. 18: Risen: Harmless. 19: The Witch. 20: The Divergent Series: Allegiant (IMAX). 21: Goosebumps. 22: The Revenant (IMAX). 23: Dad’s Army (2016). 24: Triple 9. 25: Anomalisa. 26: Hail, Caesar! 27: High-Rise: Sometimes a film is so mind-staggeringly awful it defies belief that it exists.

1. Bridge of Spies 2. The Assassin 3. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies 4. The 5th Wave 5. Deadpool 6. London Has Fallen (flips between being the most stupid film ever and deadpan spoof/parody) 7. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (ah bless, they're making another attempt at a serious Superman film)
London Has Fallen earns a place above BvS for the laugh-out-loud ludicrous scene in which Gerard Butler and the President have given the terrorists the slip in a deserted central London at night, and conclude that the safest thing to do is not to hide in some random building where no-one will ever find them, but rather to drive at full speed up the street where all the terrorists are waiting to shoot them, because that's the way to the American Embassy which (in case you didn't know) is the Only Safe Place in London.
Unable to decide who is the most stupid hero out of Gerard Butler and float-in-the-air-to-give-my-enemy-a-chance-rather-than-disarm-and-tie-him-up-first-with-super-speed Superman.

Ok, catch up time:-
1. 13 Hours:The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi 2. Jem and the Holograms: 3. London has Fallen: Evil people from Terroriststan invade London. Only Gerard Butler can save President Harvey Dent from their evil plot. About as stupid as it sounds, but lacking either in pretension of self-awareness (I genuinely can't tell which)enough to make it into a dumb action-flick. Stupid, loud and entertaining enough for what it is. 4. Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice: It is a Zack Snyder film, your mileage may vary depending on how you feel about Zack Snyder and his general approach to directing and things. Leaving that aside, Affleck and Irons are very good. Both in their own right and in terms of their on-screen chemistry. Gal Gadot absolutely looks the part both of Diana Prince and Wonder Woman. The rest of the film is rather variable. Of all Zack Snyder's films this is probably the one I can most tolerate, but it is rather a curates egg. (I think that this is rather better at the act of deconstructing superheroes than Man of Steel was on a technical level - I just don't really care for deconstructionist takes much these days so that element leaves me unmoved.)
Whilst there I also saw trailers for "Suicide Squad" (good grief, this really does look worse with every succeeding trailer. So much worse. ) and "Zootropolis". The Zootropolis trailer was glorious - whilst the film looks to be the standard neon-colour competent Disney-Pixar fare I have to give them props for delivering a trailer that looks like a 1930's noir-crime flick, complete with those on-screen banners and everything. A joyously affectionate gag.

It had the audience in stitches. Martin

1 - Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice 2 - DEADPOOL - saw this yesterday, really enjoyed it, more in line with the Joe Kelly era of Deadpool than the Tumblrbait that people think of. Best to keep him away from the main X films, or if he's there it's a brief appearance/cameo. 3 - Jem.
