I'm still kinda stunned now I've actually looked at this that there is a whole toyline dedicated to robots that turn into rocks. I mean, who came up with that and thought it was a good idea? it's insane.

2016 is the 30th anniversary of the greatest cartoon of all time about transforming robots. Yes, Gobots: Battle of the Rock Lords.We will be creating a Rock Lords fanzine to be given away free at the Toy-Fu stall at TF Nation this year. This will serve two purposes: 1 - Show everyone how cool Rock Lords are and what fools they are for denying them. 2 - Use it to advertise Toy Fu's charitable aims and hopefully draw people to the stall a bit more as well. The fanzine will be black and white, approx 24 pages, and I hope to get a colour cover done too. But I need you (YES YOU) to help! No excuses! The contents need to be fun and a little self-knowing about how silly Rock Lords are, but not mocking of Rock Lords! Anything is on the table! Below are what people are already doing/ideas for more content. Ideally I'd like everyone to contribute in some way. This site has all the information on Rock Lords you'll ever need: www.ikp.uni-koeln.de/~scholl/rock/rl.htmlEach item will probably be 1-2 pages A5 as space is limited, so it's not a massive amount of work. In progress:- Profiles
- The Science of Rock Lords
Ideas:- Letters page - All answered in-character. It was suggested that Jawbone be the letter-answerer, so we'd need someone to answer the letters as Jawbone and people to write in with their rock-lord related questions (only short ones, there isn't that much space!)
- Toy reviews
- Movie review
- Comic strip - Andy T said he might already have something nearly done?
- Text story - I sort of want to write this
- Alternate uses for a Rock Lord
- A deeply touching personal piece about how Rock Lords changed your life
- Anything else! As long as it's fun and/or interesting!
Art - Big pieces- Cover -It should be to do with the 30th anniversary of Rock Lords, like all the good and bad guys having a birthday party. Will be looking to do this in colour, I can colour if needs be.
- Middle - A4 lanscape pull-out poster for the middle with a battle featuring all of the Rock Lords ever (I dont think this has ever been done, thus an artistic challenge!)
Art - Smaller pieces- Image of Jawbone opening a letter for the letters page
- TFU-style profile art of rock lord and rock modes for Spearhead and Rock Roller
- More bits and bobs as we work out what will be in it, I'm sure we can fit in any Rock Lord related art anyone wants to come up with
If you want to contribute to any of the above or have any other ideas, let me know! I'll coordinate it all so we know who's doing what! Hopefully this will... rock  |

My strip was a 3 pager and was going to be as if it was an installment of the Eagle Robo Machine strips with some Guardians and prisoners landing on the Rock Lords planet and encountering them.
I don't think it would be a good fit.
I can manage a two-page strip though, will have a think about something, might try for a prequel/sequel to the Rock Lords strip Ralph and I did a few years ago which tied in with the Ark launch from The Transformers Issue 1.
Also happy to lend my services for DTP work to have it look as pretty as possible.
