Fun fact: I once took a whizz at the same urinal as Tom Paris. Well, the actor who played him. He was on the right. On my left was the actor who played the EMH, also taking a whizz.
This was at a convention, by the way, and not in my fevered imaginings.

Day started ok with GP appt for the magic ear drops. As I suspected, an ear infection, which partially explains my lethargy of late. Should clear up soon enough. I catch ear infections like other people catch colds!
Currently monumentally pissed off. Having made a previous enquiry, I had been told I was due to have an essay returned today. So I trekked in to Uni to pick it up. Was met with complete disinterest. No essay, no apparent clue when it's due back. I could have pointed out that the Uni handbook states essays are to be returned within 5 weeks of submission, but what would have been the point. Rather defeats the point of bothering to hand essays in on time, eh?

Urk, ear infections. Haven't had one since I was 15, but they're bastards alright.
Channelling to all whome required it: GHHHHHUUUUUUUU!
We've got 12 hour shifts back at my station- YIPPEEE!!!!! Much better. More rest days. Got day shift today, two nights, then FOUR off, squeezing Piglet's fat bits. Funny thing shifts. Pros and Cons. Anyone else ever worked shifts?
I'm on a bit of a James Bond fix. Been borrowing my brother-in-law's videos. You remember videos? Watched Spy Who Loved Me, Dr. No and You Only Live Twice. All great, but You Only Live Twice is freakin' fantastic! May actually replace Goldfinger as my fave ever! Gotta say, the music on the opening credits of Dr. No is well freaky! Watch it and you'll see what I mean!
The Predacon Civil War continues in earnest. No front runner yet. Although now Shockaracht (aka Rampage, but I call him Shockaracht in the absence of an acutal Shockaracht) has now joined in with his Transmetal Preds! I just keep wondering when Megatron will make his move!

Were you tempted to, you know, have a peak? A pic mighta got a few bob on the old intersnatch!

I was not in the least bit tempted to have a peak. It was an unexpected, and somewhat surreal, moment in time which I suspect will be forever etched on my memory.
At the same convention, I recall seeing a gaggle of absolutely gorgeous girls gathered around somebody in the lobby in a wheelchair. Being nosy, I moved closer for a peak. They were gathered around a grinning Nabil Shabin, AKA Sil from Doctor Who! At a Star Trek con. Didn't expect that. He looked very, very happy.
This was when I was stone cold sober. When Chase 'Leela in DS9' Masterston got on stage to sing, I rushed for the bar. Hilariously, around a third of the audience did the same virtualy similtaneously. A veritable stampede it was, as she warbled 'Diamonds are a girls best friends' in a...unique...manner.
By the time Tim 'Tuvok' Russ' was farting about with a guitar, I was as pissed as a fart.

I cannot imagine what she would sound like live. I'll be glad when this week is at an end to be honest. Looking forward to a quiet weekend (and it should be quiet now that they are nearly at the end of the building work next door) and a chance to sort out some stuff around the house that is a bit overdue. Another week ends. A bit of a hectic one at the end, workwise. And I ended up up one DVD Player this week. It isn't staying though. A friend of mine returned my original DVD player I gave her five years ago, so that I can in turn pass it on to my sister now that said friend has no further need of it.
Ironically I have discovered this evening that it is better speced that my own DVD player in audio terms - it has onboard DTS, which my current one doesnt.
Looking forward to a quiet weekend this weekend. A lie-in tomorrow morning I think, followed by some French Bread for breakfast and then to decide what I do with the rest of the day. (Which may depend on the weather).

I shall post news on Sunday regarding any and all ill feelings I may have.
In other news because I am out on the pull tomorrow night I went and visited The Tan Stand today to get bronzed up and at the moment if I had a skinhead would look quite like Dr Zoidberg.

I have been and will remain stone-cold sober for a while, partly due to being busy doing prep reading for the latest essay of doom (the biggest bastard yet, I must say) and partly because it's probably not a good idea for me at the moment.

Spent hours today doing video batch capturing for uni assignment.
I have had a shock this week as I have been told by a nutritional expert that I will die if I don't lose 7 stone as soon as possible. I've had to undertake a very drastic diet change which my body has'nt reacted well to so far.

Yeah, steady does it, Hero, you'll get there.
Second of 2 nights shifts for Shockprowl. Gods I want to be in bed! Urrrrgh! Some times I feel fine on nights, other times I feel like someone's taken a big poo in my head. Tonight is one of the latter.

Decided to take the day off. Bummed around for a bit. Found a comic fair. My goodness, the man-smell in there was awful! Amusingly, I saw most of the Dreamwave TF run up to the end down to 30p a pop. Ouch.

The diet so far has been tough and my body has had a weird time adjusting to it all. I'm making the effort a lot more since George and others have been going out of thier way to help me and I don't want to let them down.
I may also be asking for extensions on my coursework because I realistically don't think I can get it all done in time with out doing a half-baked rush job.

Fellow student was over this afternoon for some assistance with their own stuff and the use of Skynet. I of course introduced Brave Max: "And the little robot in the chest section [Spychanger Scourge] is -"
Other student: "Yeah, he's evil. You can just tell."
Behold the awesome power of Spychanger Scourge.

Ken, stick with the diet. It can be hard going at first if you are changing long-established eating patterns but you will adjust over time. I shall keep the old fingers crossed for you. Fellow student was over this afternoon for some assistance with their own stuff and the use of Skynet. I of course introduced Brave Max: "And the little robot in the chest section [Spychanger Scourge] is -" Other student: "Yeah, he's evil. You can just tell." Behold the awesome power of Spychanger Scourge. -Ralph Well, of course you introduced Brave Maximus. He's large enough that not formally introducing him would qualify as a social faux pas. Glad to see that Mini-Scourge's aura of undisguised evil is detectable even by civilians. I seem to have had a busier day than I anticipated when I woke up this morning. I ended up going into town to pick up some needed supplies and when I came back I ended up giving the kitchen a major clean. I seem to be in full spring cleaning mode the last couple of days. (Not to say that the house doesn't look much better for it mind) . Then I ended up tinkering around with the laptop for a while this afternoon, before I settled down to work my way through the rest of the extras on a "Doctor Who" DVD. I've got a lot more things done this weekend than I anticipated, and a lot less lazing about. Not sure whether that is a good thing or a bad thing. Karl

Talking of eating, I suppose my diet is just as bad as it's always been. I'm just a bit better at moderating the crap more and making sure I do more walking. Exercise does not come easy to the Burns.
