Thanks to Blueshift alerting me an Ebay Germany listing one of my holy grails of TF comics collecting has been secured. Andy

Congrats, dude!
Andy has shared a link to a similar listing with me, but they require a bank transfer which makes things awkward for me... if anyone would be willing to do me a favour and bid on my behalf and I pay them back via paypal, please PM me!

It's a never-been-reprinted-even-in-the-trades halloween special.

why is that issue so rare? It was a free giveaway by Marvel back in the day. They did a few of them but given their nature, free eight page newsprint comic they would mostly be disposed of. Andy

One of these days I'm going to work out which pre-IDW comics I don't have. It isn't many, but I definitely don't have one of those! Is it an original story? Not a preview or reprint?

Well it's worth it for the cover alone. There was an issue #0 for that series too wasn't there?

<checks> ah, TFWiki lists the Halloween issue as #0, that was what I was thinking. I have some of those Joe issues but not all. Just the ones that were in that cardboard sleeve multipack with G2 #1 I think. It's the little fringe issues like that I'm probably missing.

You'll just be missing Gijoe #138 where Megatron arrives at Cobra castle

I cast an eye over eBay for 138 now and again. Is 137 just part of the same story but doesn't feature any Transformers?
Actually are those issues collected in one of the trades in the current comixology sale?

I'll have to check, I believe you see Megatron and Starscream's shadowy faces having a conversation (even though Starscream should be dead) and Megatron arrives on the last page I think.

I had a feeling Mr Ayres would be able to name the right book I may just pick that up cheap to read it all, but I will one day add #137 and #138 to my collection of floppies. I guess they go for a lot more than the issues after because that multipack makes them readily available. But five more volumes of GI Joe! I'm not sure I could cope with that much! Actually, that must mean I don't have #139 either. I think. I must raid the archive and have a look.
