Recently acquired NERF Zombie Strike Crossfire Crossbow. You may never know when an apocalypse might hit and the undead are easily defeated by foam dart ammo.
Also acquired a marked down Nerf N-Strike Hammershot (Only £8 in Entertainer). It is pretty much a NERF-gun version of Hellboy's Good Samaritan. For a foam dart blaster it packs quite a wallop.

Recently acquired NERF Zombie Strike Crossfire Crossbow. You may never know when an apocalypse might hit and the undead are easily defeated by foam dart ammo. The Crossfire looks ok, I prefer the more recent crossbow-style blaster with the 12 round box magazine. Semi auto saves having to rely on drawing a sidearm in tight quarters. :-) It is a real shame that the other blaster with that action is an Argos exclusive. I love the idea of proper Single-Action revolver, but I'm not a fan of the Hammershot's "poorly maintained" look. I prefer the post-cyberpunk "iGun" look of the Sweet Revenge. (Actually, the Rebelle line's whole house style I really like. I'm not convinced that a "girls" line of Nerf weapons was actually needed - as opposed to folk just being a bit less uptight about "girls toys and "boys toys" but I quite like the actual line in terms of its design - and the sheer number of "silent kill" focused entries in it. Does this mean that Hasbro view girls as more likely too fight smart than boys?" Karl

Makes my current arsenal look extremely tiny. But then, I'm slimming that down in the interests of transportability at the moment - so I'm leaning towards multipurpose weapons systems over the "specialised gear for each role" that that fella clearly favours (looking at the fairly even balance of marksman weapons, support weapons, CQB stuff and "line" carbine style stuff. :-)
I do approve that he has a lever-action Zombie strike rifle inamongst there - much fonder of that in theory that I am of the old Recon and it's descendants, I think the way it chambers the next dart is much easier to manage than sliding that huge cover back and forward.

Couldn't see the Nerf thread so I'll just leave this here. Anyone fancy a race? We don't really have one, mostly due to me being to lazy/buzy to actually start one. :-) Looking at that what they really needed to do was put a footplate at the back so someone could drive and peddle whilst their mate stands behind them and does the gunning. The two sidearm rests forward are rather nice, look like just the thing to take a couple of Spectres for when you need to dismount. :-) Karl

I hope the Nerf Mobile moves very slowly so as to emulate the Slow Moving Futuristic Buggy beloved of BBC SF shows.

On the Nerf front - or more correctly the Nerf KO front - I noticed a new knock-off of a Nerf gun has shown up in the B&M Homestore. It uses the shell of the Nerf Longstrike (one of the bolt-action rifles Hasbro have done for the line), with a shortened version of the Longstrike's barrel extension on it. I knew something had been bugging me about it though, and when I checked it out I realised what it was - there was no bolt handle, and nowhere for the bolt handle to go! Turns out, they've copied the Longstrike shell, but instead of the original action, they've put an electrically driven plunger on there - turning it into a semi-automatic like the Rayven or Stryfe.
Surprisingly enterprising of them - usually these knock-offs just do a straight copy of the mechanism (usually with lower quality internals or darts) and make some cosmetic changes to the shell. This one has pretty much done a straight copy of the shell and put completely different internals in it! Which strikes me as a surprising amount of work for what it is.
(No, didn't buy it - I'm not in a market for another electric-action semi-automatic right now anyway)

Interesting Nerf bargain from Tesco:- They are offering the N-Strike Elite Hyperfire for a grand total of £18.99. Which is an impressively low price. The Hyperfire is one of this years releases - and holds the record for the fastest rate-of-fire of any NERF Blaster - 5 rounds a second. Taking the record from the Rapidstrike after only a few years. Of course, even with a 25-round drum magazine (the largest NERF magazine available) you are looking at less than five seconds of fire before you have to reload... Personally I am inclined to stick to semi-automatic, but if you like your spray-and-pray tactics at less than twenty-quid that is a very good deal. Karl

Addendum - if anyone is looking for the single-packed attachments for the Modulus line (the green targeting beam, flashlight and the two-shot foregrip/underbarrel dartgun) they are on clearance at Tesco for £3.50 - which is a very good price for them.

That's pretty cool, especially for dog owners who don't like throwing balls. I proposed to Hasbro on Twitter a while back to come up with bio degradable darts for outdoor play. A lot tend to get left behind after a shoot em up. We've also got NERF Nitro here, which has expanded the brand to foam cars and launchers. This is the father and son toyline in our household next to Grossery Gang. The Longshot Smash was the most popular toy on Christmas Day just gone. A mixture of NERF ramblings there.
