As mentioned on the TMUK FB page, we'll probably need one or two Universe entries as well as some GII Joe File Cards.

What's the general tone for a show like this? I really want to go down this route. I have an idea for a 6-pager that would CHANGE THE WORLD. Attachments:

I've never been able to get into Joe, so anything I do will need heavy assistance in terms of ref. You have seen the 80s movie though I hope!! I have not! I have read most crossovers and seen one episode that was on a VHS triple bill with Starscream's Brigade and an Inhumanoids episode and that is all. I don't even remember what that episode was about. All I know about Joe for fact is that the Action Force cartoon theme song was better than the GI Joe one, and that Snake Eyes vs a tiger was the first time I ever saw blood in a comic.

Also it has WWF wrestler Sgt Slaughter. Andy It also has the greatest finale of any movie, where the amount of drugs in the writers room have clearly overwhelmed everyone, as Flint tries to stab out the eye of Burgess Meredith, GI Joe fights Cthulhu and Sgt Slaughter does his actual WWF wrestling moves on a giant bat-man, while Cobra Commander runs about shouting snake things. Look Ed, here is a copy on ebay for £1.44 posted. Buy it. I promise you, it will blow your mind www.ebay.co.uk/itm/The-Movie-G-I-Joe-DVD-Acceptable-DVD-Charles-Adler-Shuko-Akune-Jack-Angel-/231842775578?hash=item35fae8021a:m:mrqHPzoZ4U3Heg1ORO5FUKw

I haven't 1.44 spare. I'm sure there are other avenues open to beyond paying money. Maybe someone could screen it at RORC...

I sadly am in no position to contribute anything creatively to these endeavours - heck, I've not even got the time most weeks for my own backlog of creative stuff, let alone Fan Fiction - but it sounds like you are all whipping up some fantastically fun ideas. Hopefully there'll be some stuff left over after the 'con for those of us who can't make it. Karl

That's right, the guys were playing it for some US fans who had yet to experience the seamless quality of the overdub

Also as a kid I was convinced Duke had died horribly and remembered it as 'that film where a guy is stabbed through the heart with a snake'. It was only as an adult I learned that Duke hadn't died and was in fact IN A COMA YES.

It's Stardub quality. Basically they had something like one man and one woman and every time anyone would say "GI JOE" they would say "ACTION FORCE" over the top
Also whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat

Theres a UK dub? I have seen neither version. Action Force version also cuts short the opening sequence and changes the music to the theme tune instead of the great piece it should be. Honestly, check out the GI Joe animated movie, but stop watching after the opening sequence. I'm sure there was also a later VHS re-release of the GI Joe movie in the UK where it starts as the original version and becomes the Action Force dub part way through, but I could be misremembering.

That release did exist. I recall reports that the first UK DVD of Gi Joe The Movie may have been that strange version.

Did this fanzine come out? This was bugging me all weekend at TF Nation (I'm aware now that it was for Roll Out) but I couldn't remember any of the details.
