For a small auditorium, there sure were a lot of people that left in the middle act for a lavatory break. Not a great indicator of engagement.
It was simpler in Ghostbusters 1+2, since Afterlife there's now this grey morality area of trapping ghosts of the deceased vs aiding them move on, and I'm not sure the franchise benefits from it.

I liked Frozen Empire better, because it was an original story without relying almost exclusively on nostalgia for the first movie.
It didn't retread anything, and also used the originals in new ways that make sense for them.
My big complaint is I feel the newer characters were a bit underserved.

Neither have any laughs though. I'll pass. Afterlife killed my enthusiasm for more. -Ralph Gave it a go on a lazy day as a Cineworld freebie anyway. Great spooky and action scenes at the start. Then the pace died and it was too bloomin' serious. Better than Afterlife though and watchable with some nice elements so it was ok. I think the series just needs to quietly die now though. Not everything can be a franchise. -Ralph
