Vol one end of this month with the first seven episodes, then vol two in May with the next six. That covers the first half of season one.

I do genuinely like it. But you have to watch it for what it is; it isn't Sunbow and it isn't even Prime. It's a different permutation that taps into the modern style of kids cartoon without going too far into the realms of wacky comedy. I'm disappointed it hasn't been more popular.

Saw the first DVD in Sainsburgeries. £7 for 2hrs30mins running time with a poster chucked in seems reasonable. I shall pick it up in due course. Is Thunderhoof in this?

Thunderhoof's intro episode is number six (Kospego Commands), then he's in it sporadically after that as part of Steeljaw's 'team'.

I think RiD is a good kids' series, many think it's terrible. I couldn't even begin to guess which way you'd go on that!

For the record, I don't think it's terrible, I just don't think it's good (if that makes sense!) Like Prime, it just seems sort of 'there' but it lacks Prime's polish and (god forbid, as I wasn't a fan of that to begin with) writing 'enthusiam' for a better word.
The only TF shows I would call actively terrible are Energon after the first half dozen episodes (when it just dived off a cliff) and all of Cybertron.

I'm coming to the conclusion I like it more than Prime because it isn't trying to draw the big picture and create the entire continuity. It's just a pocket going on while the big story is elsewhere; it's Bumblebee's coming of age story. The human characters are bearable. It kinda reminds me of Armada.

One of my major issues is the animation style. It's a personal preference but I find cell-shaded CGI to be unwatchable unless it is done really really well. I think it falls too much into the 'uncanny valley' effect for me.
