Or are they classing the movie for series 3 then with series 2 just being the 13 episodes? (but looks like we are not getting the last 2 partner this weekend in the UK)

That would be so sneaky I could believe it. Two seasons in less than a year would be REALLY odd unless they want to rush the line to an early end.

Animated seasons 1 & 2 played straight through back to back.
But I thought nurid was cancelled, and season 2 ends it.

They have more than enough characters to last the line until Dec17 before they run out of toys to make. We have not got the whole set from the first few series one episodes yet

So it seems they are almost finished with series 3 then (did they do what they said was a movie into series 3 with the end of series 2 seeing it was cut short?) Then now talk about series 4.

Hasbro do need to sort out what series 3 & 2 are. I've seen the listing for Canada getting series 2 ep 14 onwards while elsewhere it states series 2 is 13 long & 2.14 is 3.1.

It's down to Cartoon Network, not Hasbro. Basically this year they did this thing where they split all their seasons in half, so they could advertise them as 'NEW SEASON' rather than just a series break. Which does make sense but makes it more confusing. So for all intents and purposes, we are in the middle of RiD season 2 still as originally commissioned, but now season 2 has become 'season 2 & 3'

It's certainly confusing, but it does seem now that what starts in a fortnight is the tail end of season two with a proper season three next year to deal with the Combiner Force toys.
Tis great news. I've really enjoyed this series. I see season three is also going to include a five character Decepticon Combiner!

Is the US air for series 2 end or are we getting it in the UK so we can get the end of series 6 episodes before the US get it like we normally do.

TFW reports that season 3 proper starts in January in Germany on CN, so hopefully it'll be the same here.

True series 3 26 epsiodes - sounds like it start in the US next week. We might get it 13 episodes at easter, but we should get 3.26 shown before the US again.

Fantastic news. Not just that it'll be on air soon, but that it's a full season. Something of an about turn from the doom and gloom last year.

I don't recall any doom or gloom. It appears to be a successful TV show and toyline.

Toyline seems to be doing better than it was last year, where it was super poor quality toys that shelfwarmed like crazy. Now it is slightly nicer toys at wallet busting prices.
There were plenty of rumours that the show had been cancelled last year, propped up by it being premiered in the 6am death slot. It's sort of amazing there's a season 3 to be honest.
It's still the Transformers show I care least about! Good work Hasbro! (I mean yes you could say "but it isn't for you Blueshift, you are an adult, but let's be blunt: This is Transformers, it's not stopped me before!!)

Oh there was loads. 13 episode half season, it was proclaimed dead in the water before it had even started. The movie was supposedly the finale and the toyline over by this year. Then the movie got turned back into episodes, a stopgap six ep mini season bridged the gap and we learned it was all go again.

Och, it was just adult fans wringing their knickers about a show they weren't watching potentially being cancelled because The Internet says so and so they start shouting. I've seen this pattern since Armada days!

How much of it have you watched Blue? It's a good series, fun. The first few eps of season 1, failed. Watched the finale with Megatronus, it was horrible. Started season 2 because you said to, failed, then watched the ep where they melted Steeljaw to the floor, it was bad.

Clearly there was some sort of last minute reprieve! Maybe it suddenly started doing better in foreign markets or toy sales suddenly picked up

Oh. I tried man, I tried! For the most part it's just offensively bland (not like Energon or Cybertron which I found literally unwatchable, using that word in the correct way!) I think it's even more bland than Prime was, but I sort of mind less, as with Prime they clearly threw a ton of cash, money and effort at it and got... blandness. RiD is obviously a much lower budget show aimed at a younger audience, so I can sort of forgive a bit more 'churn', but that's not to say kids shows should be that bland! If I had to boil down my dislike, I'd say it's: 1 - Boring characters. Granted I've not seen every single episode, but nothing I've seen has grabbed me in any way. Which is odd as you've got Decepticon defectors, Prime in a non-leadership position, Bumblebee as boss... but they're just sort of vehicles for this generic script saying words and then stopping after 20 minutes. (Also why didnt' they carry over the good characters from Prime, ie Knockout?) 2 - Padding. Lots of padding. Lots of boring chase scenes with generic characters who I don't care about. The show doesn't have any sort of ambition at all, and so has to fill up 20 mins of airtime with *stuff*. This is one place I think the new 'in-thing' of 11 min episodes that pretty much every other kids show is doing would help it a lot more. 3 - Rubbish villains. SORRY PINWIG. Steeljaw is in no way shape or form a lead villain and I think it was a mistake for the show to try to make him one for what, two seasons. Megatronus came out of nowhere and then went "rar I'm a villain" and got defeated by ninja armour ( ) and I've not seen the ones with Starscream in, maybe it gets better. Again, I've not seen everything, but I think a decently representative selection, apart from the most recent eps (the one where they beat Steeljaw for good (?) was the latest one I saw). And it's not that I am a boring adult who doesn't understand the magic of children's cartoons as I am not the intended audience, as I like pretty much everything else, or at least can understand why it might be liked!

It's a challenge, as I think it was late 2015 when all the official info came out. There was definitely a European tv trade show where Hasbro announced season 2 was curtailed and season 3 wasn't happening, but that's clearly been reversed now (and I'd point to season 2 now being this strange 'normal short season + miniseries as an indication that something certainly was very stop-start for a while!) I don't have some sort of anti-RiD agenda! I genuinely don't care enough to! I'm sure whatever they replace it with will be even worse (rumours last I heard were something that tied even more into the Bayverse, so... yeah)

To be honest he hasn't actually been in that many.
Many of your criticisms I'd agree with; one thing maybe the show has suffered is a crisis of identity when it comes to who the villain is supposed to be. It's not 'big' enough to manage a hierarchy, so the way Steeljaw, Megatronus and then Scorponok have mingled has left it all a bit vague. Then Starscream turned up and for once it felt like we knew who we were supposed to be booing.
Steeljaw always felt like a renegade to me, rather than a potential leader. He was like the ring leader of a local posse, but not actually part of the Decepticon regime.

I mean yeah that's true, but it felt to me (from what I'd watched anyway) that the show expected the audience to treat him as Megatron-level villain. Which he isn't. I like that they at least tried to do something new with the formula, but it feels like they didn't know how to do it, and it sort of just failed and flopped about.

Megatronus came out of nowhere and then went "rar I'm a villain" and got defeated by ninja armour ( ) and I've not seen the ones with Starscream in, maybe it gets better. My affection for the Hoof is based purely on the concept of the toy. A stag that turns into a tractor was about the most original thing I'd ever heard of, until half a dozen crazy animal based robots started turning into cars. He's a Brooklyn chancer really, no more than Thundercracker or Skywarp were in the Sunbow days. Megatronus was bled into the stories through the first season, but because of the dramatic way Megatron exited Prime I don't think it was ever clear who Megatronus actually was. The Ninja Armour bit was the toy gimmick at that point - all the minicon toys come with exceptionally easy to lose clip on armour pieces on a sprue. It was a naff gimmick. Things picked up after that.
