Titan have put out #1 of Scooby Doo Apocalypse, containing the first three issues. Not something I expected to see at UK newsstand. Madly, it follows the bi-monthly frequency Titan use for their other superhero comics. Their publishing strategy frequently confounds me!

Noting that Titan UK had a new thing out I perused their current newsstand selection. It all seems to be quarterlies or bi-monthlies. Even their new launches are bi-monthlies! Their publishing strategy utterly confounds me but it must work or they would have went under!

Most of them have been bi-monthly for an age now.

We've tracked shenanigans with these for some time so this isn't 100% a surprise. But it is rather sudden.
Licence expired and nobody noticed till it was too late? Or removed by an unhappy licensor?
There's a story here somewhere....

Doesn't leave Titan with much of a Newstand presence.
Rick and Morty, Adventure Time, Doctor Who, Simpsons, and their Star Wars and Star Trek magazines - plus whatever movie tie-ins come around.

It might be that licenses are expiring and DC are taking up new options. Toyark is saying Mattel have lost their DC license, so the multiverse line will end. Someone called Spinmaster is going to take over making 6" mass retail figures. If DC have compared Panini to Titan in the UK, it isn't a surprise they might want someone else to have a go at selling their comics.

Thing is current issues were promoting next issues, which now won't be produced. If they'd have known the licenses weren't being renewed then there would have been Exciting News For All Our Readers. This suddenness suggests the licence has been revoked or some other behind the scenes shenanigans.

Depends how far behind they were when they launched. Simpsons launched in what 1993, and I'm pretty sure it was around 95 before they started with Titan.
It was a shame Bongo Comics shut up shop though.
