Anyone read the relatively new Tim Lebbon book trilogy in the Alien Franchise?
Out Of The Shadows/Sea of Sorrows/River of Pain
He's also done a AvP trilogy (The Rage War)
Predator Incursion/Alien Invasion/AvP Armageddon
What are people's impressions?

Tim Lebbon only wrote Out of the Shadows. Sea of Sorrows is James A. Moore and River of Pain is Christopher Golden. I've read all three, probably Lebbon's was the least effective for me. River of Pain is basically a straight prequel to Aliens and is quite satisfying in that regard. Sea of Sorrows is set in the far future after the films, I found the new central character interesting and there were some very strong scenes. Out of the Shadows is set between Alien and Aliens and adds little, but has its moments.
