I only know it through the previous radio version and...it was not good. Hence why I passed on the book when it appeared in Poundland not long after publication!

No, the original version of the new series when it was performed by Mangan and Serafinowic.
I had the BBC cassettes of the original radio play given to my by one of my uncles.

Ah. I thought it would be on the Iplayer for longer but when I checked only eps 3-6 of the new series were up. Erp. Though I see that series 1 is being repeated so hopefully the new stuff will be again?

I'm catching up on the repeat of the last series (6). It is utter rank but then it is based on an appaling book alas (the non-Adams one). Production does what it can but the source material was always awful!

I bought the CDs for series six to put with the others but haven't managed to get through all of them yet. Hitch Hikers is one of those fundamental building blocks in my life, like TFs and Who. Used to go to ZZ9 Cons with a chum back in the day, but the 3rd to 6th radio series have got increasingly worse. It's mad that series six won an award in America. |

Four episodes into The Haxagonal Phase and it's one of the most terrible things I have ever heard though to be fair the source material is pretty rank. There is a reason why the 6th book tanked!
