My "grim-o-meter" is pinging a little on this one. I hope it isn't the story that the voice-over makes it seem - the "I used to believe in the world, this is the story of how I abandoned hope and concluded the world wasn't worth saving".
I think Gal Gadot absolutely looks the part of Diana. The carriage, the classical bone structure and the ability to project strength. I just don't have any confidence in WB's ability to, or interest in, actually putting anything like classic Wonder Woman on-screen. I think that the visuals look fantastic, and I suspect it will be a much more interesting looking film visually than the preceeding ones. I just don't think that they are going to allow hope winning out over adversity to be a theme in this film. And that's a real shame - because Diana is one of the best DC characters to play that card with.
This is very much an "expect nothing, hope to be surprised" film at the moment.

I think it looks quite promising.
The proof, as they say shall be in the pudding though.

Not much pudding going on there. She looks quite svelte to me.

Oh my god this movie was SPECTACULAR!
It is everything I ever wanted from Wonder Woman. And unlike Superman and Harley Quinn, they actually *get* her. And they get her better than most comic writers do, short of Greg Rucka and Gail Simone.

Certainly the best DC movie so far, but very uneven throughout. A lot of good moments mixed with some poor. Overall an average film, nothing amazing I thought. Well tried though especially as the actress had to cover a range of styles and couldn't quite do it. Annoying DC 'dark' filter applied over whole film which made some scenes in dark rooms actually impossible to see when clearly more than silhouettes were intended. Felt like it was trying to hard to be an 'edgier' version of the first Cap film even down to the drug enhanced villain - who gets taken down far to fast for his build up . A nice twist near the end of the film (the reveal of Ares) before it falls off a cliff soon after (super power Matrix Armour Ares) which I guffawed all the way through. I couldn't stop chuckling away in disbelief!

Doh bugger. This now means I have to watch Batman Vs Superman. Not really. It isn't necessary to understand this film - it can stand on its own perfectly well. Karl

I couldn't stop chuckling away in disbelief! Yes. It felt like they were going for something a little bit different until Ares Henshin-ed into his Power-Up mode and it gave me a similar reaction to you. I did think that there was a nice chemistry between the leads - and I liked that their interrelationship played a little differently to the Hollywood norm for these sorts of things. Karl

Doh bugger. This now means I have to watch Batman Vs Superman. Unusually, for the current trend of 'shared universe' franchise fare, it stands completely alone. It neither requires earlier films to be watched nor does not cliffhang into another film. So it can be watched on its own. -Ralph

WW wasn't bad. The least worst DCU film by a country mile. Horrendously clunky first half hour with some terrible dialogue but it perked up immensely after that. Gadot remains a limited actor but handles the humour and fish out of water aspects very well.
A very flawed film but despite some issues in places, overall I quite enjoyed it.

If it helps, she's the best part of BvS.

I had said I wouldn't give DC any more chances, but all the reviews are decent, so I will have a double-bill binge this coming weekend of Wonder Woman followed by The Mummy.

Third act a bit of a mess. Final conclusions to complete Diana's arc weak. Predictable curve ball. Off the rails end battle. Wasted secondary villains. Still good though!
