I can't find a thread for this already in existence, so I'll start a new one. Fully expecting it to be merged or moved, because... well just because me. Anyhoo. An outfit that I'd been hitherto unaware of, called "Electronic Saviors" have put together an homage to Transformers the Movie, called Respect the Prime. It is notionally a more industrial reimagining of the Transformers the Movive soundtrack. Now this at first sounded a bit daft to me, since a lot of the original songs are on the harder edge or the rock spectrum, and the score is very synth heavy. But... something about this production works. Even if some of the industrialisation perhaps takes things too far. And their version of The Touch still has a high cheese content (as it should be). But the reinterpretations of some of the score tracks are wonderful - thoughtForm's take on Death of Optimus Prime is particular tingle-inducing. It's definitely a very interesting excercise, and worth a listen. And since Electronic Saviors also raise funds for cancer-related activities, it's also all in a good cause.

Oh! I heard the guy who produced this interviewed on a podcast months ago and forgot all about it! It sounded fantastic. I must seek this out.

It is. You should. There's a preview on Soundcloud somewhere, too, if you want to try before you buy. I'll try and remember where and update later.

That was indeed included in my original post. Although maybe I hid the hypertext link a little too well... ;-) Andy does indeed find what I meant. Had I not been so knackered, I might have managed that myself.

I listened to Hunger which was ok but pointless, and Dare which was dreadful. Pass.

Links are flipping hard to see on these boards unless they're obvious, especially on little mobile screens. Having listened to the samples it isn't quite as heavy as I was hoping it would be. Much more pop rock than industrial, but it's very listenable to my ears and I'll have it for the cover of The Touch and whatever comes with it. That's ace. Nothin's Gonna Stand In Our Way reminds me of Shiny Toy Guns. I'm in.

Aye, I wouldn't call it particularly industrial, per se - although the version of Dare to be Stupid on there is ridiculously growly. It's the slightly heavier versions of the score that do it for me, really. Given that I love the score anyway...

I have purchased. But it says released on the 12th, so it'll take a while to get here from America.

Yes. It still says that. And yet mine arrived on Saturday. Much to my surprise. I don't think they know their own production capabilities...
