I have maintained this position all along. It's just not doing it for me.

I've struggled unsuccessfully to get through the first volume of this since it came out, and am only now to the point where the sharkticons appear. That's with skipping the irrelevant pre-war story, and the dreadful Joe parts.
The art is boringly bland and pointlessly gritty. Zama is a considerably more competent artist than Ramondelli, but I'm finding her stuff just as boring to look at. The writing is brain searingly awful. It's boring, and disjointed.
Optimus Prime is the second worst TF comic I've ever read. Only the botcon 2016 comic was worse. I think I'd rather reread All Hail Megatron, or Dreamwave's G1 miniseries.
I'm done. And if IDW is rebooting anyway, there's no point in reading any further. I can't believe TAAO got canned, but this goes on. I'm no fan of Barber, but he's never been this bad before. Just boring.

The Falling story arc has ramped up the epicness of this series up to 11. Issue 18 manages to cover the entire pre-history of the Transformers - a story I'm sure was planned to be a mini-series at one point - in just 20 pages. I am disappointed that (MAJOR SPOILER) Onyx Prime is Shockwave in disguise. Still, I guess it's too late to introduce new characters at this stage.

Major spoiler makes me angry and disappointed every time I think about it. Still, this is an amusing take on it.

Picked up the 2018 annual for £1. This square bound edition feels better than other IDW ones.

It's really the art that has kept me with the book. I love Kei's work.
It's all a bit of a mess if I am honest.

The last issue was a nice capstone to Barber's run. While I think he did lose his way a few times, I do like the post war status quo he was trying to build.
I am going to miss Kei's art though.
