Not really that ridiculous. We've watched these prices rise, and then jump because of the exchange rate. Inferno came in around £110, Grapple £130. £160 is not that big a leap for something on this scale. It's just how it is now. TFE are usually a bit cheaper, but haven't been on the most recent stuff.

They've reissued MP10 at the same price.

Amazon jp may be of help here. Megatron isn't up yet, but I was just doing some calculations for Inferno. Kapow want £125 now, TFE will be about £115 with postage, but Amazon are £106 shipped and taxed.

Alas Amazon JP rarely allow toys to ship to the UKSee tmukhub.proboards.com/thread/9089/amazon-jp for developments on that matter! Ahahahaha. Another ridiculous Kapow price. They can jog on. -Ralph Retail on MP Megs is 23,000 Yen, which is currently around £170. Kapow's price is hardly ridiculous, it's actually quite fair when you think about their costs.

Which to be fair is because it isn't Amazon selling it, it's a marketplace seller. But I fear when Amazon do get it it won't be any different.

I'm gutted Megatron's so expensive. I just wont spend that much. It's madness.
Also, his upper chest, under his head, looks terrible!

I do think Apollyon still has some merits over this new one. The need for cartoon simplicity in the designs hampering the premium feel of the toys, and Apollyon has a level of detail that counters that.

So TFs-Express are offering a "loyalty" discount if you've spent £300 with them within a certain time period. This is based on when the order is placed, not when the item shipped.
So if you're a MP collector and pre-ordered MP-32 prior to July and then all the other MPs you don't qualify. If you ordered it later then you do. A+++ logic. 11/10. Valued Customer Reward Program GREAT SUCCESS.

Hmm. But then add postage and customs, and I think that ordering from Kapow would still be the way forwards...

Yeah I think you might be right. £132 + 20% = £158.40 + £13.50 = £171.90
That's without postage

This is it, isn't it?
The End of my 'Masterpiece' collecting....
For one thing, too expensive. Too too too TOO expensive.
And for another thing, they're not 'Masterpieces' anymore. They're 'Sunbows'. MP 17 Prowl was a 'Masterpiece', MP10 is a 'Masterpiece', MP Soundwave and Cassettes (bar Ravage) are 'Masterpiece'....
Since... They've been getting too Sunbow. Creeping Sunbowness...
Sunbow is great, but, as I think one of us has already said, the ultra-plain designs were a result of the animation constrains of the time. Those designs are not the 'Ultimate' G1 versions of these characters. They're... diminished versions. A True Masterpiece should be the 'Ultimate G1' version of a G1 character. Like MPs 10, 17 and... whatever number Soundwave was...
These aren't ' Masterpiece' anymore... not too me anyway. And it's been getting that way for a while now, hasn't it?
So, it's the end of my high-line collecting.
Should save me money at least....

"Diminished". That's a nice, more accurate name for the line. And very 2016.

Via Amazon Japan £156 shipped and customs paid. It beats Kapows sea freight option by a little and is covered by the lowest price guarantee so could wind up being less.
I assume they take payment on order so depending on your preferences either "yay!" the monies out of my account and I dont have to think about it again, or "Boo!" I have to part with my money 5 months earlier than I would with Kapow.
Or if you hold off till later (or amazon dont charge right away) the amazon price will change with the exchange rate, its currently at its highest since it crashed in June for what its worth.
Theres also Amazons sometimes iffy packaging to consider if you care about the box.
I need to think about this a little.

Amazon Japan is like all amazons - charge on shipping. I've got Grapple on preorder and they haven't charged me.

Shoot that makes it a harder call. Though Grapple is only a few months away, if its still available after Christmas I might take a chance.
I suppose you just cancel it if the exchange rate tanked.

Yep, just keep an eye on the exchange rate. There is a difference depending on which currency you want to order in. They don't allow you to preorder in pounds more then ten days before release, but you can preorder in yen any time. Sensible really, precaution against exchange rate fluctuations.
