That said I haven't bought any in years now. Possible the limited quality there was has nose dived.

Much frustration that the licence does not appear to have been renewed as yet or passed to another publisher. I would like to know if the current continuity has ended or not!

Picked up a reading copy of the 1997 revised edition of the Encyclopedia at Glasgow Comic Con. Not in the best condition but will do fine as a reference tome up to a point as I missed the boat on the 2016 edition which went out of print and now commands silly money.

Read the last issue of the IDW Discovery mirror universe mini (Succession). I really enjoyed that. Gets in and out while wisely not overstepping its welcome and unusually for this sub-genre of Trek had a few moments which took me by surprise.
I now fear the TNG mirror universe IDW comics lie in my future. I know they will not be as good for they are written by the Tiptons...

Rather enjoyed it - has a breakneck pace which suits this kind of twisty-turny plot. I like the way that it increasingly becomes a pile-up of shifting alliances, betrayals and reversals. At four issues it also has to keep the pace up, which gives it something of the same bonkers energy that the shows Mirror Episodes also had. Star Trek's Mirror Universe stories are, well, statistically somewhat of a mixed bag might be a polite way to put it. But Discovery seems to have done rather well in print as well as on-screen by going for High Melodrama instead of pantomime. Rather enjoyed this. Not in any hurry to see any more of it, but as a "one mini then move on" I think that this hit the marks nicely. Karl

As some of you may now, Trek Novels resume this month after a gap caused by the previous licence running out (now renewed). So the first one out under the new licence is Una McCormack's 'The Way to the Stars'. Shockingly, Sainsburgeries is selling it!!! Really surprised to see it there. £3.49 (cheaper than the £7.49 my Amazon cost me or the £10.99 RRP). UK printing by 'CPI Books' rather than imported or put out by Titan.
Here's hoping this marks the books getting more of a push/promotion this time time round.

It was decent. #1 of THE Q CONFLICT from the minds of The Tiptons was...somewhat less so. I was foolishly sucked in by the premise of a multi-crew team-up. -Ralph
