In the interests of clarity I wanted to say that nothing I have said here today was intended as an attack on any individual, or on TFNation, and if I have given any offence then please accept my apologies. I may disagree with a decision that TFNation has taken, but that disagreement is meant in the spirit of gentlemanly constructive criticism - I like the Convention and am hoping it will continue far beyond when we are all sitting with out walking canes nearby complaining about rust in our motivators and a burr in our rotator-cuffs.
And to get back onto a positive note - Toyfu going to have any Energon/Superlink stuff lurking around? Because if there are any Omnicons or Combiner-basics lurking on the table they might just catch my interest...

Ditto. On the convention front. Not the Energon one.

Putting to one side the legality of the toy, do such items really drive attendence numbers for cons? This one was announced two weeks before the convention. I would have thought most people would have made their booking decision by now (when there was no toy to factor into personal decisions). Or is there usually a surge in bookings this close to an event? I ask as I have no experience in organising cons and am interested. I'm just wondering what difference having a toy makes to a con? I recall when AA had recolour 3p not-Jumpstarts as the event's official toys and they didn't seem to be shifting. -Ralph That was my thought too. But maybe this year is getting one out there in the hopes it benefits next years. Im also not sure I even agree with the arguement though. I'm sure lot of people ask, Ive asked, but its never been a major factor. Botcon, TFcon, SDCC and the rest maybe need the exclusive, people are being asked to travel potentially thousands of miles to attend a show, that adds massively to the basic cost so want a bit more to make that worth while. Most TFN attendees will travel no more than a couple of hundred miles, but as long as it doesn't bring down the wrath of Hasbro on them and the fans like it.

Two weeks to go guys, and all that matters is what's on the ToyFu table this year?! Blueshift will be draped across it wearing a coat made of Armada Sideswipes. The exciting finale consists of me expelling a motorbike from my insides

Im not sure about Energon to be honest? Combiner basics? From Energon? That was the line that had Superion Maximus, Bruticus Maximus and the other bloke... Constructicon Maximus(?)...wasn't it? Or am I misremembering? Karl

Mostly the term combiner basics threw me. Do you mean the limbs?

Yep, those - I seem to remember that being what the price point for those and the Omnicons was called. I could be wrong. (I am after all advancing in years. :-) )

CONVENTION EXCLUSIVE BEARRICADE! "I'm hearing a lot from the media, and from upstairs about this case. Arbearlus is talking to the vid about how he thinks that this cub can be reformed and brought back from the wrong side of the tracks. The Febearal Bureau of Investigation are on the verge of ordering a "shoot on sight" order. Bottom line is this. Bearricade was one of us, if anyone is going to be bringing him in it is going to be someone from this House. Forget whatever else you've got on your desks, everyone is on this. The budget can go hang, there is no overtime freeze on this case. Bottom line, Bearricade needs to be stopped - no matter the cost. We are bringing him in." "What are you waiting for? Christmas? Hit the streets, start working leads! Go!" Karl

And that is my order placed for Bearricade. Depending on how I feel on the Saturday that may well be me sorted out for exclusives. He was certainly the "must buy" from the Con' for me. (And I mean that quite unironically - Arbearlus is fantastic, and I am over the moon that he can have some company from his own neck-of-the-woods.)
