Yay!
Though sod's law it's a different weekend to my best guess as to when it would be, meaning struggling to change the time off I booked (the joys of the fucking messed up work holiday system).
Year one was great fun, looking forward to the sequel.

Counts me out unfortunately. Moving it back a week means I'll be at my sister's wedding. I'll have to find some way to make it to Thirsk '17 instead! Shame, I'd hoped to make TFN a yearly thing, and the missus liked the hotel too.

You can currently book a room direct with the hotel for 2 nights £170 (using Hilton website) but it maybe best to wait to save another £35 when the room rates are up. (this is friday/sat night 2 adults one room)

Transmission_Initiated Transmission ID: 00003 TFNation_2017 Operation: First 2017 Guest We are super-excited to reveal that Transformers colourist extraordinaire Josh Perez will be making his UK TF convention debut at TFNation 2017! Josh began his time with the Cybertronians by providing colours for several Dreamwave titles, most notably various issues of Transformers: Energon and Transformers: Micromasters. With the dawn of IDW, Josh was able to apply his talents to a wealth of new material, starting with the darkest of all backstories, Megatron Origins. He went on to add his very own (All)spark of magic to several movie-verse titles such as The Reign of Starscream and Tales of the Fallen. Afterwards, he hopped back to the regular IDW-verse to breathe life into a new fan favourite in the Drift mini series. Josh is perhaps best known for his work on the Transformers: Robots in Disguise comic series where he served as regular colourist for most of the run – even the book’s name change couldn’t stop him! A keen Transformers: Animated fan, Josh also provided some additional character designs for The Complete AllSpark Almanac. Josh will be signing autographs and selling sketches and artwork in our guest area all weekend. Just don’t be surprised if you catch him chowing down on a slice of pizza at his desk… he tells us it’s essential. Launch tickets, bedrooms, pricing, further guests and activities will be announced in the coming months. Keep monitoring this frequency. If you want to ensure all communications are intercepted, join our mailing list at tfnation.comFurther transmissions to follow.

And on that note... Transmission_Initiated Transmission ID: 00004 TFNation_2017 Operation: A New Light Making his first appearance at a Transformers convention, we are thrilled to announce artist and creator Jack Lawrence as a guest of TFNation 2017! Jack first came to the attention of TF fans through his work with the TRANSMASTERS community in the 1990s, working with the likes of Nick Roche and James Roberts. His comics journey has come full circle recently, joining James and Alex Milne as part of the new creative team for the MTMTE follow-up LOST LIGHT, issue#1 of which will be released shortly. Along the way, Jack has worked for a wide range of publishers, from Dark Horse to Image comics, Panini, 2000ad and many more, covering characters such as TMNT, Dr Who, Sinister Dexter, Skylanders and Jackie Chan... Tell us you wouldn’t like to see those last two in a crossover! In addition, you can also find Jack’s work in many reference books, from the likes of Eaglemoss Publications and Hatchette UK. Fans of independent comics may also be familiar with Jack’s ongoing collaboration with Adam Lawrence, TINPOT HOBO, following a crew of Custodians as they try to enforce the law in the chaos of space. For those unfamiliar with the project, check out the official website at www.tinpothobo.com/home.html where you can find character bios, ship descriptions and much more about this well thought out and immersive universe. Jack will be signing autographs and selling sketches and artwork in our guest area all weekend. Launch tickets, bedrooms, pricing, further guests and activities will be announced in the coming months. Keep monitoring this frequency. Transmission_Initiated Transmission ID: 00006 TFNation_2017 Operation: Venus Terzo to attend TFNation 2017 Joining UK fans for the very first time, we are pleased to announce the incredibly talented Venus Terzo, Beast Wars Blackarachnia, will be attending TFNation 2017! Blazing a trail for the multi-layered female characters who followed in her path, Blackarachnia’s long journey, from Beast Wars’ ruthless, self-serving, rebel Predacon to the Maximal-aligned Beast Machines force of nature, has seen the character achieve a special place in fan’s hearts. Her later dedication to Cybertron, and her relationship with Spark-mate Silverbolt, were elements decades ahead of MTMTE’s own examinations of loyalty and friendship, and are as relevant now as they have ever been. Apart from her Transformers work, Venus’ acting versatility is reflected in the sheer quality and scale of her filmography. She is well-known for voicing My Little Pony’s Rainbow Dash across numerous features, the female version of Ranma ½, Jean Grey in X-Men: Evolution, the iconic Sorceress (and evil Critta) in The New Adventures of He-Man, and Gigagirl in Reboot. Then add in Biiko Daitokuji in Project A-Ko, G.I. Joe’s Jinx, Death Note’s Wedy, Princess Lana in Captain N: The Game Master and Talia Gladys in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny, and that’s just a selection of her animated work. Venus’s on-screen appearances are even more numerous, including Arrow, Minority Report, Supernatural, Continuum, Sanctuary, Andromeda, and Stargate SG-1. Mainstream audiences will also know Venus from Blackstone, Badge of Honour, The Guard and her long-running role as Detective Angela Kosmo on Da Vinci’s Inquest , along with numerous other TV Movie and episodic work. It’s worth noting, for fans of darker series, that Venus has also appeared in The Masters of Horror, The Dead Zone and The Twilight Zone and even appeared in the original TV series adaptation of Stephen King’s It. Venus will be meeting fans, signing autographs and taking part in panels during our convention, which will run from Friday 11th and Sunday 13th August 2017. Further transmissions to follow. Transmission_Initiated Transmission ID: 00007 TFNation_2017 Operation: Bob Budiansky to attend TFNation 2017
We are honoured to announce that Bob Budiansky, the man who started the Transformer mythos and gave us so many of the iconic characters we enjoy today, will be joining us for his first UK Transformer event, at TFNation 2017.
Bob’s history goes back to the early 1970’s after his reintroduction to the world of comic books. A passion he would late turn into a lifelong career.
As an editor, illustrator, and writer, mostly for Marvel, Bob witnessed, first hand, some of the most defining years in the industry. He edited titles like Spider-Man, Daredevil and the Fantastic Four and contributed many covers to other titles across the Marvel universe. His involvement on Ghost Rider (with Dave Simons and Roger Stern) spans a period many fans considered as a defining era in the character's history and he created and wrote his own series, Sleepwalker.
And then, there are the Transformers…
Approached by Hasbro in 1983 to create a story line around a series of transforming toy robots, Marvel’s initial material was rejected before Bob stepped in, renaming most of the characters and revising personalities for the likes of Megatron, the Dinobots, Wheeljack, and countless others. He edited the very first Transformers mini-series in 1984 and scripted most of the next 50-plus issues of the US run. He also named and created the character profiles for over 250 of the Transformer toys (yes, the original tech specs) during the first six years of the brand’s existence, developing new story treatments as Hasbro introduced new lines of Transformers. On top of all this, he occasionally even pencilled a Transformers comic book cover or two. Bob’s work on Transformers doesn’t just end there though as he returned to the franchise to write IDW’s Transformers The Movie 20th Anniversary miniseries.
Bob Budiansky will be meeting fans, signing autographs and taking part in panels during our convention, which will run from Friday 11th and Sunday 13th August 2017.
Further transmissions to follow, including an update on 28/01 on the latest ticket and hotel details. TFNation

I think the question more is "Is Uncle Bob enough to tip Martin over into going?" It would be a dead cert if I hadn't met him in London a couple of years back, and to the shame of TF fandom had him virtually to myself for much of the convention. Martin
