Oh I did watch a Pixel Dan walk through video where at the end he asked the Mattel guy where are the rest of the great rebellion, and the response was that they aren't done with She-Ra yet. We shall see. It is also interesting that they will invent a brand new Horde figure with the She-Ra 4oth anniversary sticker in Sting-Or rather than give us a Glimmer, Angelica or Mermista etc.. Well we wouldn't want any of the He-Man figures getting cooties or something...

Rattlor finally arrived. He's great! I wish his arm accessories would stop falling off. Aside from that he rattles and RULES.

48 hours into the Snake Lair crowd fund it's just ticked past 2000 out of the 6000 it needs, having gained 1600 in the first day. Not a massively successful start it seems. Mattel are also now giving backers a 20% off Creations store purchases voucher.

Oh ages. 8th sept. But to get the bonus figure you need to back by 14th August. So I suppose if it gets to 3000 in the next two weeks there'll be a rush around the 13th.

Zero interest in Big Business crowdfunding for the richest fans. However, I hope those who want this get it.

Turtles of Grayskull King Hiss arrived today, which I think means the end of that sub-line what with no new announcements at SDCC. Mad figure mashup of Foot Clan soldier and King Hiss. So that brings that line to being 24 regular figures, 10 Deluxes, 1 BAF and the SDCC Skele-Shredder throne set. Really enjoyable line full of some beautifully designed figures, don't regret buying into these at all.

I was looking at King Hiss in Smyths just a few hours ago! Looks great but experience tells me I can wait for a discount.
And so contrary to my own advice I instead bought Battle Cat Man at full price…
But yeah, ToG has been a real joy. A lot of imagination and attention to detail, and a sense that the people working on it were having fun.

I've started buying recent waves from amazon.de because they reduce figures quickly (the current cartoon wave is now £15 a figure for example) and if you buy several figures the postage doesn't change to much more than £4. I've also noted the first Thundercats cross over wave is starting to come down already. Two of the three are down to £16, so they'll be next when Lion-O joins them.

I love that MOTU x Thundercats has delivered on an anthropomorphic Battle-Cat. I instantly ordered one from amazon.de.
As much as I love TMNT to bits, I think Thundercats might blend in more with MOTU as a crossover. Early days yet.
Still checking on Snake Shredder. He's kind of a homage to another TMNT toy in Scale-Tail. I hope to get one eventually.

I'm not sure the Thundercats one is going to go very far, it's pretty lean compared to the Turtles one. Two waves of three figures so far with one Deluxe, then the third wave is purely repaints of figures from the first two waves. Panthor I get because you need the counterpart to Battle Cat, but the same Lion-O and Panthro figures in different colours? According to the concept art anyway. A change in accessories at least would be better. But if they're doing that as early as wave 3 I can't see it lasting long.

Hmm. The stream doesn't seem to have had much impact on the numbers. It only picked up a couple of hundred since yesterday, still less than half funded. Unless there's a significant boost around the time the early bird bonus figure deadline expires next Thursday, I should think this is doomed.
That does seem to track with origins generally; the only things that gain significant interest are the updates of 80s figures. Anything else seems to hang around for ages - even 80s originals that aren't straight figures like Night Stalker.
I think it's interesting that the Fright Zone was on the fan vote but allegedly didn't win, yet now has a retail release. Mattel obviously thought there was enough milage in the Snake Lair to do it themselves; this crowdfunding is basically them getting enough pre-orders to make it viable instead of making 6000 and hoping they sell. If it falls short they need to rethink the approach. Maybe a two pack of the Battle Ram & Attack Track done really nicely, as it seems they're very reluctant to do those at retail.

Snake Lair is now 3500/6000 a day before the early backer bonus figure window closes.
15 days left to go. I think it's 8am Friday for us when the early backer window closes. It's going to need a big jump in the next two days!

I did my part last week. There are so many snake men in this line they need a base and having seen all the play features this has, plus the chimera and the bonus figure, well. It comes out about the same as a Studio Series Devastator + Star Optimus, so I guess they're now off the wants list!

Sketchbook series Sy-Klone in this morning. I love this figure because he looks so 70s in design. Big visor. Like a bright orange Judge Dredd circa 1972.
