Sad news, like Roger Moore he always seems to have understood what he'd be remembered for and even relished it. Somehow that made him more likeable.
I was looking forward to the next animated Batman film and hoping for many more.
Anyone who hasnt seen Return of the Caped Crusaders should make the effort, Adam West at his bonkers best.

It is indeed a very sad day, but also one i see so many great Adam West moments being shared on social media. As Andy said, in a world where so many celebrities try to distance themselves from the role or character that made them famous, Mr West embraced it. That will help as to why 52 years after he last donned the cape, he is still loved.
He is the greatest James Bond that the world never had, as he turned down the role stating that he believed Bond should be played be a Brit, before it went to George Lazenby.
While he maybe missed, he has left us with may great memories and it is very fitting that last year he got to be Batman one last time in the Return of the Caped Crusaders. I shall be giving that animated movie another watch this weekend, after I have watched the '66 movie.
RIP sir and thank you.

I have such fond memories of watching Batman in the mornings during summer holidays. I was too young to get that it was deliberately camped up, but it didn't matter, it was still enjoyable at face value and a big part of the fact it worked liked that is the way he played it. -Jim

I too first saw it at a young age when I did not realise it was a comedy and so I took it seriously. This is why I default to West as THE screen Batman.

He will be greatly missed. Adam West was absolutely fantastic, a fun actor and someone who seemed to have a definite sense of humour about himself. I shall be watching the Batman: The Animated Series episode he did this week in tribute - fitting seeing as it was clearly intended as a tribute to his importance to the Batman legacy.

At least he got one last hurrah as Batman in 'Return of the Caped Crusader', which I greatly enjoyed watching in the cinema last year.

I just read this article on Facebook, so some of you may already be aware but it was news to me. Adam West had completed recording for a SECOND Sixties Batman movie before he death, so at some point we shall have Batman vs. Two-Face. It was a nice surprise to know we have one more Adam West performance in the role he made famous to look forward too. 13thdimension.com/adam-west-and-the-fate-of-batman-vs-two-face/
