Monochrome Jeep Bumblebee marketed as Bumblebee movie as a NEST affiliated in a form he never took in RotF, with a running Sam Witwicky is not a thing I ever anticipated.

This belongs up there with Studio Series Thundercracker, which is something that also never appeared in any of the film. This isn't bad, per se, although personally I find the paint job a bit boring. Maybe a chance to troop build (haha) a load of generic background characters?
Mostly, though, I'm amazed (although not really) that they've had the audacity to put this mold out again. I know that the jeep was only done once, but the basic engineering - and some of the parts - were also re-used to make Cybertronian mold Cliffjumper and B-127 Bumblebee. Not to mention the fact that they're likely to show up again in the Buzzworthy line (I thought they already had but it's just the AoE WWII mold) and so are likely to get reused anyway. It's very odd.
Still, if they keep going on along these lines I'll welcome it, as long as they're not afraid to become especially odd.

But he looks nothing like hound. It seems well weird to design a toy like this based off no appearances at all, especially with what looks like a fake chest.

Bumblebee looked like this very briefly in his movie, just not grey.
And I would not put it past them to do a Hound version, even though Movieverse Hound looks like Bulkhead...

That Wheeljack is awesome. Makes me want to expand my Studio Series collection. I think the designs from the Bumblebee movie are the best: updated G1 without losing the spirit of the original.

I really like this Wheeljack. If anything I prefer it to the WFC version - I really like how it retains an element of alien-ness that the original G1 toys had (which is in contrast to even the Siege toys, that look like they're all from Earth, albeit maybe with the odd pizza box randomly stuck here or there). Also he's got 5mm ports on his feet and one on his back (which is more than some of the Kingdom figures had...) which means he'll be compatible with the Weaponiser stuff from WFC, which is perfect for Wheeljack.
This'll go very nicely with SS BB Prime, Bee and Starscream, and I can't wait for the other rumoured figures.

Ugh. It has the usual horrible Movie style head design. Never liked the WAAAARRRUUUUGGGH NIGHTMARE movie head design aesthetic. Horrid.
Och, I still haven't got ER/K Wheeljack yet anyway. That'll do for me when I get round to it.

Huh. Not what I was expecting at all, but here we are. And whilst I'd normally very quickly say "no thank you", because I've got the original and prefer his battle-mask face over his kid-friendly, ball-gag face, if this one turns out to have a lot less clear plastic than the original then I might pick it up as insurance. Although looking at the pictures it looks pretty much the same, so nah.

Oh i like these. The three autobots have the best cybertronian alt modes in years. Maybe since Transformers Cybertron.
Soundwave's alt mode is complete nonsense. But as nonsense goes, it looks better than siege soundwave's nonsense alt mode.

Soundwave's a Voyager, Ravage fits in him. His case mate is as yet unrevealed by Hasbro but we know what it is. tmukhub.proboards.com/post/458504/thread He's also in w2 with a different, also unrevealed case mate. Ravage & Shockwave are the complete Core w1, and both are carried over into w2. The three deluxes are in a wave together with SS86 Perceptor. Ratchet & Wheeljack are carried over into w2 with new case mates. |
