I don't know if I like this more or less than the mainline one - both of them have things that aren't great, and both have things that need changing. In fairness, for me the main problem with the mainline Cheetor is that it's a very obvious reuse of the Kingdom mold (and it's really weird that that's the mainline one, whereas Airazor's mold reuse version is the Studio Series version). This one is more unique, but that doesn't necessarily make it good. I'm not a fan of the very lazy unhidden hands in beast mode, and the torso is just a bit too bulky for me - combined with the head sculpt that doesn't make him "Cheetor" to me. That said, this is movieverse Cheetor, who is unlikely to be the same character type as Beast Wars Cheetor; and it's not like there's not precedent for this - Cyberverse Cheetor was a different character type too. So maybe when we've seen the film it'll fit better. And I do like the beast mode detailing, so we'll see.
But the thing I'll probably most likely do is hold out for the inevitable repaint. Because if there aren't any in the Buzzworthy line I will be very surprised...

I like the stupid way it has more cheetah spots in robot mode than it does in 'cat that is known for its cheetah spots' mode.

I have no issues with Mirage and Wheeljack being different cars than G1.
But while I have no particularly strong feelings about this, I too, feel like the silver Porsche should have been Jazz. Porsche because it's the correct vehicle, and silver creates visual continuity with the first movie.

Well it can't be Jazz, because he dies in the first film, and with this being a (chronological, if not actual) prequel he couldn't possibly be a character that hasn't died yet. That'd be impossible!
Um.
Anyway, the real problem is that we won't ever be able to get an accurate representation of Jazz's alt-mode in toy form because Porsche will never let them do a version of one of their cars. Clearly.
Um.
Well, whatever the case, I'll be surprised if there isn't an inevitable repaint/slight re-molding of this Mirage.
As Ricochet, of course.

I am, of course, going to buy this. It's a Mirage. Albeit a slightly confusing one.
Given that this version has a visor and the film doesn't (from what I remember) maybe he was supposed to be Jazz at one point?
