I'd love to draw a two/three page comic. Might even have a go at writing it too.
Would also love to do some interior art if needed for any of the other articles (the one of Skullgrin & co I've already drawn can be used if we pretend it's Daurus & co)!
I also have a Metalhawk toy (with box) if any photos are needed and also all the Japanese manga. Also have a pretty good KO Minelba/Minerva/She-Nightbeat toy.

Oh wow, you're the MASTER of MASTERFORCE! Anything and everything is appreciated! I've updated the first post with what people are working on

Oh man, I thought I had a comic that would be perfect for it, till I realised the lead character wasn't in Masterforce, it would work for either Headmasters or Victory, but not Masterforce.

Bogatan could talk about his experience of owning a Metalhawk/tracking down all those Japanese figures generally? Im genuinely a bit shocked to realise how many Masterforce junkers I have.

Depends if you like giant potential GPS victims or not.
Black Zarek. Ranger. Metalhawk. Probably some of the remaining overlords from Overlord Mountain are Takara versions.
And a not quite junker Grand Max.

I have some Masterforce figs with boxes if photos are needed. Got all the Pretenders except Blood, Doubleclouder, Wilder, Bullhorn and one of the engines. Loose, I have Buster, Hydra and Hotspark. I know folk with the other figures too, hopefully with boxes.

Has the thread been derailed enough for Phil to step in yet? I might have a MOC animorph somewhere too that I can discuss.

I'd be up for doing a bit of fiction about the cruise ship that sinks a few mins into episode 1 and how this a clever metaphor for all sorts of things. It will be called MASTERFORCE: THE SINKING SHIP?

Also if people are wanting ideas, I always thought there was something of an interesting backstory to write about re: the Autobot Pretenders sealing away the Decepticons in Atlantis, the Nazca lines and Egypt. Did Metalhawk hang out with Plato and use the crystal of Kronos? ?

I was also thinking there's some potential in this, but being just 8 episodes in I wasn't sure whether anything would be addressed with flashbacks. I do like the idea of Metalhawk et al as mythic warriors fighting the Decepticons as Demons in ancient times. -Jim

*Has a Think* ... Something about being a western fan in the early-noughties first discovering Masterforce (and the other two) via bootleg DVDs of the Star TV dub? And then journey I think a lot of people who first saw the show that way went on of "This is shit, but all the more experienced fans online say it is good and only the dub ruins it" through "30 episodes in and the dub is actually brillaint" through "An official DVD! With proper professional subtitles! Now the true majesty of this show will be revealed... Ohhh, it's more shit than with the dub" into "Blueshift has told me to end this with a paragraph about how Masterforce is really great regardless of dubbing". Ha ha ha. You know very well that's the story of the Victory experience!! But seriously some sort of 'fan journey' thing would be interesting This is similar to my first experience with the series in very late 2004, when Nick kindly gave me a copy of the dubbed series in I believe Quick Time format, that was poor quality so needed to be watched in a window less than a quarter of my monitors size. I hated the series at first but slogged my way through it during sleepless nights. That changed when I acquired the Metrodome set in the summer of 2006 and came to love the series on second viewing in dvd quality and with the original audio. No Human Optimus Primes or Prince Hosehead's. I last finished the series about a month ago, and it is the best Transformers series, especially considering it has so little to do with Transformers fiction that had come before it.

I last finished the series about a month ago, and it is the best Transformers series, especially considering it has so little to do with Transformers fiction that had come before it. There was a lot of 'fan wisdom' to fight against though! Before anyone had any way of seeing the Japanese series apart from grainy screenshots, I remember everyone was 100% that: 1 - Headmasters was a gritty continuation of G1 that it was a crime Hasbro didn't bring over 2 - Masterforce was a terrible and dumb mistake with dumb humans 3 - Victory was a triumphant return to form 4 - Zone had metroplex's zombie leg Whereas in reality 1 - Headmasters is interesting for the first four episodes but rapidly becomes incredibly boring at around episode 7. 2 - Masterforce is actually a proper television series and is really good (and fits in a lot tighter with the Transformer mythos than we were led to believe) 3 - Victory is really bland and a bit of a slog, though has a good finale. 4 - Zone is just an extended fight scene and you can't really make any sort of value judgement from it. Also no zombie leg. I guess Masterforce was a lot like Beast Wars. We'd all been trained to think 'arglebargle that's not the real Optimus Prime' and so we had a moral duty to automatically hate it, whereas if you actually watch both those shows, they make it clear that yeah, that's not the real Optimus Prime but isn't pretending to be!

You know I'm down to doodle.
But I have zero knowledge or connection to this series, so will only be able to do something I'm specifically asked for.

I will probably need help with some art for my bit.
Have always loved Masterforce (but agree it is better without the silly dub) but was lucky enough to get VHS versions of many episodes off Matt Dallas back in the late 90s so saw it at somewhat better quality (and ease!) than others.

Going on my experience so far, I think I could contribute an article along the lines of long-time-fan watches it through for the first time.
And some art!
