Ok. Ok here we go. The death of Optimus Prime shuck me up a bit there. It was horrible, but so noble. Optimus Prime really is one of the Greatest characters in fiction.

All of G2 in a single day. It may be months again before Shockprowl is his old self. I am still reeling, to be sure. But I had to seize the time while I had it. MY OFFICIAL REPORT: I'll be honest, it didn't do much for me at first. I was so taken with End of the Road, I felt 'Transformers' ended there. It was a good finish. But as Optimus himself said- "It never ends!". As Blue' said, it starts slow, and it failed to grab me. But, the more I read, the more Furman sucked me in. The more I read, the more I found myself getting into the mythological story Furman was telling. He's good like that, isn't he? With the mythology and the the the metaphysics of TRANSFORMERS. That's why he's the best. I'm sorry but Mr Galan's art didn't do much for me, I hated his necks. But the other main chap, sorry his name escapes me at the moment (still reeling here) was great, and of course, the awesome that is Senior needs no description. As I say, it did struggle to get going, but then, oh mama, rollercoaster! And the end... every bit as jaw-dropping as End of the Road, and the battle with Unicron. Optimus Prime's sacrifice was... really quite gripping. Very very well done. I was moved. Moved by a Transformers comic. That's good writing for you. Brilliant. Really enjoyed it. What's after G2? |

IDW did an alternative to G2 called Regeneration One but it wasn't that good

Manny Galan is better than his G2 work suggests. He's admitted he was trying too hard to try and keep to Yaniger's style, I believe.
