And there was me thinking that a film about a man in a robotic suit released a year after a film full of giant transforming alien robots would be something of a step down.
I was wrong.
Not as good as 'The Shadow' or 'Batman Begins', but as superhero films goes it's definitely in my top five.
And the last line in the film was superb.
(Plus: 'Indiana Jones' trailer - woo-hoo! And 'Incredible Hulk' trailer - looks terrible.)

Glad to hear that Iron Man floated your boat Martin. I am, hopefully, off to see it on Monday so positive word of mouth is gratifying.
I shall let The Hub know what I think in due course.

Loved it. A lot of similarities to Batman Begins maybe not as good, but brighter. Downey is great as is the whole of the cast.

I thought it ticked all the boxes. Downey Jnr. was excellent throughout and it had some genuinely funny moments- coupled with some great action scenes.
I personally think the HULK trailer looked decent. I can see they're going for a more 'popcorn' oriented flick - but I'm looking forward to it.

Saw this with Ralph and Karl today when I should have been studying. Verdict: AWESOME.
Stick around till the end of the credits, though. I nearly lost it when I saw the post-credit scene-ette.

It felt a lot like the first X-men film in that it had great performances, translated well from comics to film but was let down a bit by a thin story, lack of compelling villainy and a mediocre score. Which isn't to say I did not enjoy it. I did quite a bit. It just lacked that certain something.
Downey Jr was a joy to watch throughout.

I really, really enjoyed this. RDjr is always entertaining, and it's good to see him able to let rip in a popcorn action movie like this. Some genuine laughs, and by God that suit looks cool on screen. And, yes, the post-credits cameo ellicited a squeak of fanboy joy!

Not bad, not bad at all. Definitely a good superhero movie. Falls a little bit short of great, but some of that feels like an attack of "pilotitus", and as Ralph observed it could have done with a bit of a stronger villian. But definitely good stuff.
I felt Robert Downey Junior pretty much folded the movie up, stuck it in his pocket and walked of with it. Not that the rest of the cast weren't good, because they were, but because he put in such a wonderful turn. He was definitely the best thing in the film
Not quite prepared to declare it a great Superhero film, but definitely a good one.
Karl (Hope when it comes to the sequel they can line one person up to do the music score - might help smooth it out and give it a bit more of a unified sound)

Totally loved this film, every other marvel film has been a bit of a let downfor me, but this has restored so much faith for the next few releases!

Just in from seeing it. Brilliant, brilliant film. Had the sense of fun you wanted in a film like that (and arguably was missing from all three Spider-Man films). Marvel's best movie adaption yet.

Rather overdue, I saw Iron Man last night. Thoroughly enjoyable. Pacing seemed a little slow in places, but it was so that a good story could be told, so I didn't mind. A well played-out origin story, good humour and an excellent performance from Downey. At one point, I wondered what Stan Lee's role would be. Five minutes later, he turned up in a completely unexpected manner. It's a shame I didn't know about the post-credits bit. I did wonder if there would be something near the top of the credits - evidently not - but even if I'd known, my Dad is not one to wait through 10 minutes of credits. (A quick Google revealed the content if not the actual clip.)
