Ugh...The Missus was sick all last night, so i got very little sleep. My dreams were haunted by Transformers Animated, and a short-lived sequence where Ralph and Nick posted their 'Masterpiece Apeface' which consisted of MP Megatron with mince packed around the face.

Mince around his face? What kinda freaky sub-conscious have you got? Hope your good lady feels better soon. As this is the last shift in a busy run I've just treat myself to a HUGE bacon, egg and sausage sandwich (well-done bacon)- oh mama it was good...

Star went in and had her test (£53.99 just for taking a small drop of blood and twoing and throwing between labs!). She is a lot happier now and Zip is not rejecting her as much.
Not out of the woods yet because the results may not be good. What matters right now is that Star is happy and acting like her normal gluttonous self again.

I know!
But of course, i fully expect a prototype by Friday.
Edit: Just enjoyed the majesty of a HAGGIS PIE from Greggs. I suggest you all RUN, don't walk to your nearest store. If you live in the Glasgow area, you can probably spit on one from your current location.

Edit: Just enjoyed the majesty of a HAGGIS PIE from Greggs. I suggest you all RUN, don't walk to your nearest store. I would, but I fear it is a Scotland-only thing. All the Greggseses in Cardiff sell Welsh cakes. Day trip to London tomorrow. Damn it! I won't be back in time for Batman! And King Tut is due to declare Gotham his kingdom too. Grumbles... Oh well, there'll be a convenient summary at the start of Wednesday's episode. Tonight it's listening to Just a Minute in the bath, followed a bit later by watching Ronin in bed until I fall asleep. My thoughts with your cats, Ken. Don't worry if they stop liking each other, though - cats generally fall out and start avoiding each other when they grow up. Martin

Glad to hear that Star sounds like she is a lot perkier though. Long may that continue. Bit worried about my sister today - she was supposed to be making her way back from a weekend at work today, but what with all the flooding in that neck of the woods I'm not sure whether she risked it or if she had to stay put at work another day. (A bit like last year where she ended up stranded at work unexpectedly when the heavens opened) Time will tell. Karl

Keep us updated Karl.
The vets rang today and things were positive, Star's red blood cell count is now at 18% but still needs to get to 25% minimum.
More test results later this week.

Had a meeting with a counselling agency this morning re: looking for practice. They'll get back to me.
Jings, it's cold today.
Currently prevaricating about going in to Uni to do some reading for an essay of doom. Ugh.

More problems at house of Phil. Walking into the prayer meeting Sunday night I heard a clicking noise from my shoes. Nothing I could see. It's only when i got home I discovered that one of the leg supports I wear had cracked about 2/3 rds of the way around. Not good. The rest of it went today so that's useless. Without that I can't wear the shoes, so I'll have to go back to buil up boots again which don't give the support that these things did.
Poo.

Sorry to hear about your continued probs, Unky Phil. And I hope the little kitten gets sorted out as well. Awww.
I am on day four of wearing my new glasses. It's weird. I feel like I am walking on the floor of a Fun House. But aside from that my vision is pin sharp now, like going from VHS to DVD really. And of course, style-wise, they only add to my carefully craft fat 'n' bald image. Get ready for sexy.

We need pictures!
I got back from a skiing trip to France on Sunday. Had a fab time, and didn't break any bones. I'm now officially suffering from post crimbo blues, mainly as I've come to realise I've already blown a quarter of my holiday entitlement in January. Bum! Why can't it snow in August?

She and Zip are racing around the house a lot and up to thier usual tricks. Plenty of prayer this week for the house of Phil and anyone else needing it. ===KEN

Well it was my first time skiing on snow (done some dry ski slope skiing before which doesn't compare). I wasn't fantastic mainly due to general unfitness - my leg muscles were in agony after a couple of hours - but I was alright. Really enjoyed it though and would go again.
The funny story of the week was when a mate of mine was trying out snowboarding for the first time. At the end of the day he hadn't done badly, and we were all just catching a button lift to go up to the main lift to have one last run. Now button lifts are the drag lifts with a pole with a circle of plastic on the end (the button!) that you stick between your legs to drag you up the slope. These are pretty easy if you are skiing, but if you are boarding you have to put the button between your legs sideways which is quite hard. My friend fell off 3 times then decided just to walk up the side of the lift to the top. It wasn't that far but he was knackered by the time he got to the top and collapsed in a heap.... and dropped his board.
Now ski's have these little brake things on them to stop them from sliding away when they are not attached to your feet. Snowboards .... don't. So the board started slipping back down the slope and picked up speed at a rapid rate. It went by the side of the next 3 people on the lift then veered back into the tracks of the lift. The first guys saw it coming and opened his legs to let it through. Unfortunately that meant the next guy didn't see it coming and it knocked him to the ground, along with the next three people on the lift. The lift controller stopped the lift and everyone who was left on it was left halfway up the slope.
Fortunately no-one was hurt. My friend had to walk back down the slope apologising to everyone on the way, especially the people who were now on the ground wondering what the fuck just happened. He got bollocked in French by the lift controller then collected his board and walked back up the slope again, to take his crown as Button Lift Bowling Champ 2008.

Phil, Paul, sounds like you both haven't had the best of days - hope things improve for the rest of the week.
Glad to hear you had a good holiday John - and that your mate was good enough to provide some comedy entertainment for you all.
Spoke to my sister today and fortunately she did get home in one piece yesterday - but it was a much slower journey than normal. Between the plumes of spray that made it difficult to see where she was (let alone was going) on the motorway, to the fact that there was apparently water pouring out of the ground alongside the road over the hills (and lying deeply enough on the road that driving through it was like driving through a jet-wash. But fortunately she is home safely so all is well.

Maybe it knows something about the oncoming weather that we don't....
At the moment it is saying "Ski Japan", but given my choice of film viewing last weekend if I was going to Japan I wouldn't take skis. It'd be a tin hat to protect me from flying debris.
