Bad news I'm afraid chaps.
Dad died tonight just after 8pm.
I'd come up to Kingston today to see him but Mum got called up this morning as they thought he'd had a stroke overnight. I had been there this afternoon where he'd been struggling a bit with his chest. Went up again tonight and was with him for about an hour, then joined by my brother Mark. His breathing got less laboured, but the heart rate became shallower and in the end he went quite peacefully just after 8.
Mum, Tim and David didn't get there in time. They rang Mum but he was gone before they finished the phone call.
He was 73.
Not the greatest of days, and to be honest a very stressful few months since the heart attack. But he went very peacefully in the end.

I'm sorry to hear that Phil.
I'm glad he went peacefully though. My thoughts are with you and your family right now.

Very very sorry Phil. Glad it was peacefull. Prayers with you.
Hope everyone else doing ok.
I'm starting a run of 4. Off to a busy start. Piglet been so funny recently. She enjoys her books and being read to. Often saying (rather demanding) "Book! Another book! Read!". Well yesterday, she was sat on the floor, held a book out infront of her face and proceeded to 'read' it aloud! Ofcourse it was just baby-talk, but she was really shoulting it out and holding the book out there like she was giving a reading at a book club or something! So funny. Trying to stretch her a bit though at the mo, our dishwasher broke, and at the mo she's too short to do the washing up, even with a box. So stretching in order me thinks- get 'em working I say!

Blimey the wind, that's THE wind, not MY wind, is causing chaos in North Yorks today. In our patch there's been 10 HGVs blown off the A1! People flying about all over the place! Trees uproted! Cows zooming past! MOOOOOOOO!! End of the world!

Got an interview at another counselling place next Tuesday. Next week will be insanely busy as I need to knuckle down and get an essay done in between that, practicing and classes.

Woke up this morning at 9 o clock and discovered that I had overlaid for work as I start work at 7. I phoned up the factory and they booked a day of my holidays in to cover today so that I don't lose any money.

Man oh man it was hard getting up at 0445 this am. Still windy, so expecting more wind propelled cow incidents today.

Right, this, I swear, is truth. Doc' you especially should like this. At work, we fill out a Patient Report Form, for each and every patient. Currently these are being redesigned. The new dept. within the Ambulance Service that is taking care of this is:
Development And Validation of Risk-adjusted Outcomes for Systems of emergency medical care. Or
DAVROS!!!!!
Can you belive it? What, did a manager, who's a Dr.Who fan, MAKE a departmental title fit the name of the creator of the Daleks? Oh for the love of...

Considering Davros' interest in unethical experimentation and genocide this makes me rather worried about our National Health Service...... Karl

I thought you'd like it. It beggars belief. Someone being paid ALOT more than me has thought that up. Wonder why moral is so low in the NHS.
Davros for f**k sake...

Wonder what that would stand for?
How can I make it fit some thing that means: 'Buncha managers who spend all their time trying to justify their own existence whilst getting paid fat wages the money of which could be spent completing my smegging training and putting more Ambulances on the road.'

What a busy day! Only just come back for our 'meal break' an hour before we hopefully go home. Pretty much proper jobs though, so don't mind too much. Just shows need more ambos on the road.
Got a lovely morning of DIY tmw. Urk.
But, Revoltech Optimus should arrive tmw! Yippeee!
Haven't told Mrs Shockprowl I've ordered him. Nor the other two Revoltechs that're on their way.
But, went to a wedding reception last night and danced with her loads before we had to leave early ('cos working today), thus putting myself in the good books!
But haven't told her I've ordered Blaster, Mirage and Grimlock Spotlights from Mr. Bax.
I'm sure it'll work out!

Had a sort of interesting week. Spent two day working on a shot only to find that it had been put on hold so probably wont make the film, which is frustrating. Saw No Country For Old Men which is great, very annoyingly not one of the FOUR cinemas in Hull has or looks like planning o show it. Its like theres been a decision made that the population of Hull are incapable of understanding anything remotely intellectual, so unless it has a top A lister in it we dont get it. Apparently Tommy Lee isn't good enough. This time though we're talking about a film that is at or near the top of the charts and has the most oscar nominations of the year including best picture. I had to see it in Hammersmith Cineworld in a cinema with a whopping 2 screens I think, maybe three, Hull's cineworld has 9 screens and is open longer and is still showing Alvin and the Chipmunks.
*sigh*
Besides hat I go very geek excited when I got to see a single shot from Half Blood Prince that 2 of the guys are working on. I elt very jealous even though its a horribly boring and difficult shot to work on. Its probably the only one we'll get during this contract as well. I so hope we get more and I get a new contract for it.
Pre operative assessment on Friday, which was fine, but I've been ill ever since I hope it clears up before Wednesday. I really want my foot sorting out and Ive had to book three days off work for it so being cancelled due to illness would really suck.
