I do like a bit of 8-bit chip tunage.

Oh wow.
I love Turrican. The Amiga version is still the best, that soundtrack was INSANE
I found out recently there was an orchestral version released recently, but it goes for stupid money. There's a version on youtube though!

The ZX Spectrum soundtrack was the best. It's the sound of a million owners crying at the complete lack of audio accompaniment.

The 128k versions of games on the Speccy often had excellent audio. Sometimes there was even...speech!

That's cos 128 Spectrums had a midi chip in them and could do a great many things the standard Spectrums couldn't.

It almost still feels like getting one for Christmas would be the height of technology and coolness.

The Spectrum 128k +2A with built-in Datacorder is the best computer of all time.
The C64 was pish. A pretender to the throne!

That's cos 128 Spectrums had a midi chip in them and could do a great many things the standard Spectrums couldn't. It's an AY chip, which is still very capable (being also used in the Atari ST), but isn't quite the same as MIDI. It's strange to realise the best Sinclair Spectrum models were made by Amstrad and not Sinclair themselves
