Hello Sports Fans! Had a lovely coupla days wi Piglet. Numerous walks enjoying the weather. Gotta be carefull Piglet didn't burn though, man it was hot! Really funny when a light breeze kept blowing her hat off! She'd chase after it giggeling like a crazy-baby! Also bought a carpet for our loft bed room (media and crafts room, we're posh you see), which was very exciting! who is this piglet? Ah! Piglet is my daughter. She's 2 in June. She's a cute little cutie pie and I like to squeeze her fat bits. Really must post some pics some time. (her real name's Katy by the way! I don't call her Piglet to her face, Mrs Shockprowl beats me! Often call her treacle spounge though).

I can't remember what my mum or dad did with me when I was two?? but I do know I was dropped on the head as a baby, I bounced so my dad said I was fine XD

I had an impatient twit in the post office queue simular to the one Nigel had to put up with sometime back. This guy made a couple of dog growl noises behind me and I turned round and gave him an odd look as if something was wrong with him.
Patience is a virtue.

'Till Piglet gets cross! I mainly squeeze her fat legs, very satisfying! 'Course can only do that to my own Child really. She's immeasurabily cute, but then agian I would say that wouldn't I?! I haven't dropped yet to date, and do my absolute best not to to be sure. When she was, blimey, not quite One, I took my eyes off her for but a minute, and found she had crawled to the TOP of the stairs. She just turned around and grinned at me! I think I cried... Great age though this. Watching her discover the world (and her own independence!!!).

I thought it was awesome.
I suspect Ralph's doldrums are to do with only finding out Girls Aloud were in the SECC after the gig had sold out.
Me? I'm studying. First exam this coming Wednesday, doncha know?

I almost feel like I have a social life this week, what with bowling and pizza with my team in one of the organisations I work for on Thursday, then another pizza and a visit to a comedy club with my colleagues in the other organisation I work for last night.
Never been to a comedy club before. We were sat far too near the front, but one of my colleagues caught the brunt of the MC's mocking. The guy who did comedy juggling of knives and fire clubs was not without talent.
And today, we have confirmed...
TWO PEREGRINE FALCON CHICKS ON THE CLOCK TOWER!
(They didn't produce any young last year.)
Pigeons of Cardiff beware.

A lot of bird shit is falling from the sky today and hitting people in my vicinity. Someone or something is trying to send a message.

The peregrines don't even blink or flinch when the clock they are nesting on chimes, but last year when they set off a cannon for the Queen's birthday or some such thing, that saw them off. Dozens of birds, sea-gulls and suchlike, rose up as one in panic and returned fire, showering crap over everyone and everything.
I took cover under the Museum car park barrier.
Final score:
Queen - 1 Birds - 793

Beat last year's 5k time by 10 seconds despite them changing the route and making it harder this year.

I'm having one of those really annoying weekends when no matter what I do, I seem unable to banish my worries from my mind. You know the way.
I've tried lots of calming walks in the sunshine down the park, by the river, etc and it isn't working. Sigh.

My first exam is on Wednesday, covering Pesticide Toxicity and Movement of Nutrients in the Environment. Second is on Friday with Contaminated Land and Carbon & Nitrogen Cycling. Third is the following Tuesday with Environmental Radioactivity, Stable Isotopes, Atmospheric Chemistry and Water Classification. Fourth and final is on the Thursday and can cover any or all of the previously mentioned topics. Anyway, don't expect to hear much from me till Friday the 23rd. Probably after noon.

Funny, I studied hardly any of that stuff at university but they nearly all feature in my job today to a greater or lesser extent. Mention peregrine falcons in your Wednesday exam. They might be extinct in the UK by now if they hadn't banned chemicals like DDT in pesticides. Being top of the food chain, they built up in their bodies and made their eggshells too thin. But they're on the road to recovery now, hurrah! Good luck, Nick. Martin
