Huh. I kinda like this. Except for the silver cod-piece/pelvis, which looks really odd.

That's not bad actually. It is in "my colours" - black and silver is a colour scheme I think just works on most things. Quite like the look of it. Not sure I'm going to want to pay what it'll go for if it is a webstore exclusive, but it is very nice.

Obviously a Cheetor repaint was on the cards, so I'm glad that's now out in the open. But it feels odd to be in January with only Dinobot revealed as the only new mould to come. Last few years we'd have had a glut of G1 characters on the cards by now.

So like, I've had him for a while now, and while I love him, I stand my my earlier statement that it doesn't work.
Cheetahs don't come in black, and unlike the original toy, this is unambiguously a cheetah.
And the Mainframe Cheetor model... it still looks like Cheetor, only in black. I kinda feel that if Mainframe had used him in the show, he'd have had stockier proportions.
I love the new toy mutant head, and I kinda feel that's what he'd have had in the show.
I do wish he'd had been given a toy accurate normal face, though. I think that would have divorced him a bit more from cheetor.
Also, he has a lot of black paint applied to black plastic. It's metallic black, though. And while it may not have been toy accurate, I kinda wish the black paint on his torso had been replaced with yellow (the same area I'm talking about is painted blue on cheetor). I also wish the two plates in his cat shoulders (also black plastic painted black) were painted silver or yellow. (That's actually a detail that doesn't exist in the original toy, so silver or yellow wouldn't be any less accurate than black)
But I am happy with him.
