Now see, I'd not mind that version of that mold to square off against er optimus. It's just slightly off that it feels like a manufactured clone.

No it isn't. You buy one Earthrise figure and your brain just goes, "what the fuck was the point of the last year?"

I know what Pinwig is saying.
For you and me, Doc', my Siege-Brother, Siege has given us what we want. But in the Grand CHUG Scheme, Siege has been made redundant by Earthrise. I don't blame Earthrise for this, I blame Hasbollocks. I found in Siege a peace at last- not Earth, not Cybertron, something else. It spoke to me. But in a heartbeat Hasbollocks has redone everything and everyone again. The very next year. It's madness. But it's here.
This realisation does not mean Siege is any less of a Great Line. No no. It just means that to most CHUG collectors, Earthrise is what they really want and have been wanting.

Well I imagine many Earthrise toys will be delayed for a while due to current events.
Therefore...SIEGE STILL REIGNS SUPREME!!!

Indeed. With Hasbro ceasing operations I can see a gap here. I just hope that means delays rather than cancellations.
It does also mean a short break in the constant buying of new figures.
So we'll have to fill that with buying old ones instead.

I opened a Siege toy for the first time today. Crosshairs. A very nice figure and much of the quality control issues I keep coming across in PotP figures seem to have been eliminated. Other than a slightly droopy left knee anyway.

Those are all the ones that are double dips.
So instead of showing you have multiple identical robots, they put the doubles in vehicle.

Spent a while fiddling with Apeface while getting irritated by the government's refusal to acknowledge opposing points of view in the daily briefing. I've not watched one of those for a while, it's pretty fractious now isn't it!
I see why this has come in for criticism. The transformations themselves aren't complex, but both the ape and ship modes don't really look like an ape or a ship. The ape does resemble the awkwardness of the original, but there's very little in the core of the body holding it together. One thing that's impressed me with WfC figures is that they're solid when locked in place in either mode, but this is just odd. The head's on a flap that doesn't seem to connect to anything and the robot arms don't fold up and tab as solidly as they should. It's like Astrotrain's base not quite laying flat, you can see what it's supposed to do, but the plastic itself is preventing tabs getting into slots.
The big disappointment is the ship mode though. The original Apeface did at least have a decent ship, but this one is just naff. Again, it doesn't feel solid and it's way too square. He looks good in robot mode, but that's about it. Really hope Snapdragon is better. Not a complete disaster, he is obviously Apeface, but middling at best. Not fun to fiddle with.

Must Have ALL Lambos.... <pulls pin on grenade> ....especially the ones which are as they were supposed to have been No, Phil, no. These are SPACE LAMBOS anyway. -Ralph You inadvertently raise an interesting point which I must continue in the The Siege Thread.... As noted, Several of the Siege toys have been redone in Earthrise. Prime, Megatron, Starscream (Thundrcracker & Skywarp), Prowl (Smokescreen and Blustreak - there's enough evidence all 3 are coming), Ironhide (and Ratchet) and Soundwave. It's annoying yes, but as was made clear from the start Siege was Cybertronian versions. The initial press release - tmukhub.proboards.com/post/325851/thread - mentions Cybertronian modes. Starscream and Soundwave, fair cop. But with the others, especially the Datsun brothers, we feel a little conned having paid twice for the same toys. But ..... Has Siege actually snuck a couple of definitive versions out there that won't be redone? To wit Sideswipe and Hound. Sideswipe is *REALLY* close to his original car mode, bar the lack of a spoiler which might be a bit of trademark avoiding slight of hand. Hound is less close to the original form of the toy's vehicle, but is a pretty realistic modern Earth "jeep". Neither has a redo in Earthrise or even one rumoured. Both got a Netflix repaint where none of the other recycled cars did - Starscream's repaint Hotlink is a different Cybertron based character and Megatron.... well let's say the Earthrise update is dubious. Sideswipe has a further Selects reuse this year as Tigertrack and seemingly a second Netflix use as Deep Cover. Are the Siege Lambos the definitive versions? Is Hound? Most of the rest of the Siege toys are EITHER characters with only Cybertronian modes or got their Earth/commonly used modes dead on (Skytread, Springer, Apeface & Spinister) Trying to think of which of the remaining toys then are liable for an Earth Mode update....

Given they're negating Siege, I'm honestly kinda surprised that Sideswipe isn't getting a retooled roof and door panels. Both of tbose parts are seperate (meaning they're not part of the torso), and that's literally all it would take to change them to look like actual cars, the "cybertronian mode" is so dubious.
Heck, they could pretty much do it with a paint mask, even.
