UNNECESSARY. I'm not even sure I want the retail one, but I'll have a look. Classics M may not be a traditional looking M. but it's a design I really like. Unique.
At present I have Siege Optimus, Hound, Bluestreak, Sideswipe, RTS Jazz and Classics Mirage on a shelf waiting for Ratchet to fill the gap and complete the original UK 84 CHUG versions set with decent looking figures for the first time. I'm all about the perfecto CHUG Diaclone cars set at the moment. For some reason.

WHAT. DON'T YOU WANT AN OFFICIAL IMPACTORRRRR?? -Ralph No, because he's too small. Spartan is the mutt's nuts and that hollow legged Deluxe does Impactor no favours at all.

Best of the three Hasbro Impactors (FOC, TFSS, Siege) and much bigger than most of the Siege Deluxes: he's not far short of Springer And Speaking of Impactor:

Just opened Impactor myself. Really is a big chap by siege standards. Mirage is also nice, I look forward to Leadfoot.

Still needed to be a full on voyager, but that's pretty close.

Good to see the three Datsun brothers together. I still think that mold would make a great Jazz, because it's so sleek. And good gracious, Impactor is huge!

Can't see a need to own this mould a fourth time when the other three versions are essential characters.

Interesting to see that the boxes for wave 4 Impactor and Mirage both say 'fan voted' on the front next to the window. This further makes me ponder the existence of the different versions in the 'fan vote' boxset.

Yeah, I noticed that having just picked up Impactor myself. It just really reinforces the argument that these box sets were meant for some event or other.

Can't see a need to own this mould a fourth time when the other three versions are essential characters. I think that this might be the one aimed at me - the Barricade version might be the thing that convinces me to buy a version of this mould, because it is a character I've actually never owned. Karl

I have the best possible versions of Prowl, Silverstreak, and Smokescreen, so the siege versions have been really meh. Barricade however is a must have. While I would prefer it's colors to be more accurate to Barricade, and would prefer it oyt of the U2 mold, I'll take this in a heartbeat.

Oh yes, I do think that's a good mould but I can't get over the extended necks. Car modes are great. Were it not for that I might well have left the Siege ones.

Given that Thunderclash was an Optimus inspired design to start with, only with the top of his truck mode becoming his chest instead of the windows...
...and siege optimus's entire truck roof becoming back kibble, I wonder how hard it would be to reengineer a retool into Thunderclash? And throw in a new trailer ALA Studio Series Voyager to Leader Optimus, and it would be an excellent late Earthrise leader

Now that I see better pictures of that cel shaded Optimus Prime I think it looks quite spiffy. Not sure if it works for Megatron though. Hmmm. -Ralph

I'm kinda the other way on Op/Megs. I think it looks silly on both of them, but I think Megs pulls it off a bit better.

I'm sure this has come up before, but having now played with it in hand (steady there) I am wondering whether Impactor may end up being retooled into Megatron in the future. The transformation scheme has many echoes of the T30 Legends Megatron...
