I was right. Impactor only looks huge because Siege figures are relatively tiny. He's the same size as TR Blurr (who himself is not a particularly large deluxe), and he's dwarfed by TR voyagers.

I am 90% positive this guy is a Quake pretool. Given the character's focus in the comics this would make perfect sense. Which is why I still hold that he'll be another tank Megatron instead. With a new chest piece and a re-molded shoulder cannon he'll be closer in looks to G2 Megatron... and so they'll put him in a G1 colour scheme instead. With an orange tank barrel. Because why not?

Would be so weird to have another one straight after the TR one when there haven't been any others since G1. Interesting Times. I think I need to add 1988 to my Best of CHUG chart to see where we stand on those characters.

Maybe the 'decoders' that come with Earthrise toys will enable us to see they were always in Sunbow when placed over a screen displaying an episode.

I am 90% positive this guy is a Quake pretool. As am I. Mirage... I would almost like him if it weren't for everything about him. He's proving a bit marmite. I like mine, but would prefer it with the superior toy head. 80% sure he's a Slapdash pretool. And Sureshot. I think the problem here is getting past the fake car front chest. I can, and I think it's an adequate trade if if it gives us Mirage AND some other not redone characters down the line. And it will get a reuse. Almost everything in Siege has - prior to the expansion - bar the tapes - and we can see what Laserbeak will be, Smashdown - who's got a straight up reissue in Earthrise and Springer - harder to guess. Even post expansion Singe & Crosshairs are repaints, Astrotrain gets an Earthrise reissue and it's obvious Rumble will be back as Frenzy probably with Laserbeak as Buzzsaw - there's been a Micromaster partner swap already. Spinister and Apeface are harder to guess. Of course Mirage and Impactor have had two goes already, thanks to the three pack and the deluxe. It's just obvious they'll be more.

I really like the fact that his beast-mode jaws are visible in jet mode - it's like a WWII fighter or something.

Barricade looks very striking in hand, but I couldn't bring myself to buy one this evening. I suppose because there's no legacy figure from G1 to compare to, he seems to make the most of the mould. I hope Smokescreen works as well when we finally get him. Picked up Barricade yesterday. Oh my thats a proper lovely colour scheme. I know Jetty isnt a fan of Mirage having translucent bits, but I am and between Mirage and Barricade (and Sideswipe I guess though it doesnt have the same effect) Im wishing they had gone all in with it. Anywhere it could have been laid over another piece as with Prowl/Barricade or wrapped around a more skeletal piece like Mirage. It gives off a Tron ish futuristic vibe of hardlight shields or translucent metal armour or I dont know but I like it. It certainly might have made the likes of Prime look a little less Earthy and more Cybertroniany.

Can confirm Ratchets are in my area. Got mine and Shockprowl's yesterday. Need to find the next two on my list.
Ratchet's a bit better than Ironhide in QC, but still suffers the same fundamental bad design problems (no pins in the hinges).
He also suffers from Warden's obcession with cartoon accuracy. He really needed red head, thighs, fists, and the hinge the shoulders are attached to. The red paint apps don't work very well to break up the white, IMO. It just ends up looking incomplete and spotty. What doesn't come through in photos is that he's not entirely white. His fists, crotch, and back are a very light shade of grey, that looks nice. His weathering effects are also very nice, and subtle. It's a shame they're finally getting the hang of it at the end of the line, when they're about to drop the concept altogether.

I don't have a source for Ratchet yet, I can imagine your list is pretty long but as you're already holding stuff for me, if you can add me to the ratchet list and it gets as far as me, that'd be great.

You'd be third on the list. So not too long. I'll add you right now.

Yay!
My sister is actually in Texas as we speak, but she's far too busy being a tourist to find department stores.

Just reading the Facebook comments in response to ID Toys' trip to Hasbro the other day. There's a note that says Direct Hit and Powerpunch aren't getting a UK release so they're going the import route. I know we knew that anyway because of the poor way that size class has been handled over here, but it does say least tell us to pull the trigger wherever they're spotted.

Yep. Amazon.com seems to be the way to go for Micromasters.
That FB thread also confirms no MM ten pack or Rainmakers over here.

But ID and Kapow keep telling us how AWESOME Hasbro UK is and that we, The Fans, should stick by them rather than import. Er. -Ralph
