Okay, so Kapow reckon Takara are rolling out Earthrise in their April release slot. Astrotrain is the only figure due from them in March, but the numbering means no other unannounced figures before that. So it seems unlikely that Ratchet is coming from them unless they spring it as a Mall exclusive.

Noooo! I was kind of counting on Takara releasing Ratchet.

I'm not familiar with WWII fighter having beast jaws. Not actual jaws, but Shark's mouth paint jobs were quite common on certain aircraft like the P-40 Warhawk (the Flying Tigers a group of American "mercenaries" made them a bit of a signature, but they weren't the only ones by far. (The tradition has been passed down to the USAF's 23rd Fighter Group, along with the Flying Tigers name...) Karl

Noooo! I was kind of counting on Takara releasing Ratchet. It seems silly they wouldn't do a core character like Ratchet, especially when he is a remould as opposed to a repaint. There is only one figure slated for March so far, so there's a chance, but what seemed a certainty now seems surprisingly unlikely.

Ratchet should have been the retail release, with Crosshairs as the exclusive

Ah yes, the Hasbro solution to listening to fans' concerns about product availability... But ID and Kapow keep telling us how AWESOME Hasbro UK is and that we, The Fans, should stick by them rather than import. Er. Yeeeaaahhh. And right now they have this to say about Siege Ratchet: "We will get some but not sure how many." Which... is not reassuring. I'm now wishing I'd got the conjunx to pick one up for me whilst she was in Singapore as opposed to trusting that ID would deliver...

One would hope they don't take them off to shows before filing the orders of those of us who got in there on Exclusive Apocalypse day...

Taking paid pre-orders when not knowing how many they could get seems foolish.

Ratchet should have been the retail release, with Crosshairs as the exclusive I think the thought it that Crosshairs was intended for Earthrise - we'll see if that's the case if any more Autobot Targetmasters show up - and only added into Siege as an afterthought. Of the "definitely originally Siege" toys, Barricade is probably the most likely candidate to get bumped out but he's there to bump the Deceptions numbers up. In some ways I think the Diaclone cars should always be available at retail, not exclusives, cos they are the characters people identify with TFs, but then they have had multiple gos so maybe a first run character should be at standard retail. Ratchet however has a really odd history in Generations: His first version in Universe 2 was a hard to get last wave toy and didn't come out here in the UK. I seem to recall the Japanese release being slightly easier to get, but only just, and more expensive. His CW version was a convention exclusive, which obviously didn't come out here. The Japanese UW version of that could only be got in a boxset with 4 toys you probably had already and was a TTMall exclusive. His Siege version gets to be a store exclusive which doesn't get released here. So not good for getting an updated Ratchet all round and especially in the UK. We also missed the RiD2015 version here. With the Siege version there's always the possibility that something else is planned down the line, either a more Earth like retool in Earthrise or a Selects Marvel comics deco - swap the grey for red and paint a red helmet. But for a character that's always seemed to me to be popular, he's not had a lot of luck with the availability his modern toys.

Apologies to @toph, accidentally edited his post rather than replying to it, long day, somewhat stressful, tired.
I hadn't intended to imply UW Lynxmaster was a Con exclusive, I'll look at modifying the wording to make it clearer.
IIRC it was a TTMall exclusive though....

I'M BEING CENSOOOOORZEDDDDDD!!!!!!
Anyway. "CW" Ratchet is much worse. It shouldn't even be considered an exclusive, if it should considered at all. It was a custom class figure, which means only a minority of a minority of a minority even had a chance at it.
(Which is exactly the reason I came to hate the custom class. It became seen as this elite exclusive venue dominated by the same handful of people every year, as opposed to a class dedicated to teaching and encouraging newbies how to customize their toys)

Wasn't being careful enough, sorry. I was playin' wit'cha. And Animated Minerva. The original idea that Shawn had floated for the TFA custom class figure was altering Dragstrip into TFA Sunstreaker. Which IMO is exactly what the class should be. Using an existing figure and altering it. Plus it made sense as a complement to the set as Sideswipe (which itself was said somewhere to be an apology figure to the G2 Sideswipe shenanigans. As if the two are interchangeable) The custom class original color "exclusive" concept as exclusives wouldn't bother me being used if the figures themselves were released assembled, with a set of special reprolabels and "how to" recipe posted online. If it lost it's elite statis, a ton of people would have stopped clogging up the class every year.

If it lost it's elite statis, a ton of people would have stopped clogging up the class every year. The problem were the three (or four?) years they had uniquely coloured moulds and didnt make them available as prebuilt convention add ons. Before that point you could in theory buy the mould remove existing paint apps and create the character yourself. I say in theory because getting the alternative head for Scrapmetal is something I imagine is neither cheap or easy. (though in fairness the class was meant to be Inferno, Rumble was an after thought) And afte those 3 you could buy the last few as prebuilt toys with no more or less difficulty than any other botcon toy. But those 3, yikes! The fact that those 3 were arguably the best of the eleven does not help. In Fun Pubs defense Hasbro made them do Ratchet in the class.

As his head and fists just pop out, at one time I would have expected someone to do red replacements of both.
But now no 3p really does that anymore.
