On the one hand: yay for those who want it/can afford it.
On the other hand: boo that a toy spaceship can now cost ***£500***. No kids are getting this.
Still amazed these high price items don't have payment plan options: surely Hasbro (and the like) are missing out on sales from folk who think the item is worth the money but can't (or won't) pony up the full amount at once.
But then, if they fund so easily, is there any incentive for Hasbro etc to offer that option?
I fear toy crowdfunding is veering into 'only for the rich' territory.

On the other hand, are Star Wars collectors regularly paying out the same amounts that TF collectors are? As Phil has documented elsewhere, keeping up with TFs, especially with the current exclusives apocalypse, has been costly of late. Is Star Wars in the same situation? Do Star Wars collectors maybe have more of a chance to save up or otherwise offset the costs if they don't have regular sizeable collection-related outgoings?
Not saying that this is a good thing, mind you - it'd still be much better to be seeing a version of the Ghost on the shelves, too - even if it might not be quite as big or as feature-filled as this one.

I dunno, there seem to be a lot of SW exclusives and a BS wave is £125 retail now. Maybe the one thing SW doesn't have so much of is the capsule lines like Toxitron, but they do have stuff like the Christmas figures and if you're rebuying figures on the retro cardbacks that would mount up very quickly.
