Also the budget for the design of these has already been allocated and manufacturing costs baked in to any projections for the company. The failure to hit unlockable goals just means they withhold production and the figure is more profitable per unit to the company.

I love crowd-funding for smaller business/independent creators as I feel it does help them get products to market they otherwise couldn't. But the likes of Hasbro, Top Cow, Boom and the like using it absolutely boils my piss, fuck off with that.
