I was thinking the first Portacio X-Men and another Jim Lee X-Men #1 would be must buys.
They're effectively teasers for the various X-Men epic collections appearing at the same time.

I bought the reprint of X-Men #1 as it was 90p and one of the few genuinely good 90's x-comics. It's not the recoloured version from a few years ago. -Ralph |

The completist urge is upon me. I was able to find all but 2 of the reprints. The two I cannot find are:
TRUE BELIEVERS: KIRBY 100TH - AVENGERS: CAPTAIN AMERICA LIVES AGAIN #1
TRUE BELIEVERS: KIRBY 100TH: BLACK PANTHER #1
Did these come out? Can any chum assist?

You're in for a treat! 2/3 of it are the very first X-Men I ever read when the Nightcrawler & Iceman were reprinted in an ancient Marvel UK Winter special: britishcomics.wikia.com/wiki/X-Men_Winter_SpecialShouldn't be too hard to find. I've got one anfd there's a few on eBay right now. The Phoenix tale in it has been reprinted: Marvel Masterworks X-Men iirc and the Iceman one in the Iceman LS TPB. The Nightcrawler hasn't but I assume it'd turn up in any future Nightcrawler LS trade as it's the basis for the the LS I can't find it. My only thought is it's in the loft with the Marvel UK X-Men Winter Special that reprints the 66% of it that isn't the Phoenix tale: The Nightcrawler & Iceman tales and the profiles for all 3. |

I also picked up the X-Men Classic Omnibus this week, very nice. Showcases all the additional pages, and edits to panels and dialogue from the earlier issues, with comparisons to the originals. Has all the back up stories from the first 44 issues, covers, frontispieces, pin ups, etc from the whole series. Unexpectedly [to me], it also contains all the other X-Men reprint series [Early Years, Amazing Adventures, etc], with covers and any additional pages from the reprints. Also has plenty of original artwork from the Classic reprints. |
