Another FIERCE DEBATE has arisen in the catalogue poll thread! What colour should Hotspot be?
BLUE as he was in his original toy or RED as fire engines traditionally should be?
YOU DECIDE!
DECIDE BLUE!

That wasn't the question, though to give it its proper context the question should have been worded "What colour should Hotspot have been?" Yes, Hotspot is blue, and people drawing him should colour him blue. But he should never have been blue in the first place. He should have been fire-engine-coloured. Then he would have been a better Transformer (robot in disguise) and I would be voting for him in this week's poll. Imagine you had never seen Hotspot, but you had been told in 1986 about the Protectobots concept, and they asked you what colour the fire engine leader should be. What would your answer be? Now answer this poll. Martin

I don't think any pictures of the Diaclone version of Hotspot have ever emerged, or it's name, but I strongly suspect it would have been red and been called SOMETHING Convoy just like their Op was Battle Convoy and their Magnus was Powered Convoy. Ditto the Diaclone Onslaught for the name.

Hot Spot is definitely blue. Until he wasn't and Guard City was right!

You get blue fire engines so I'm fine with him being blue.

Search Google Images for "Blue Fire Engine". Were all of these intended to be red?

But you have to include "blue" in the search term to find them, which testifies to their rarity / wrongness / unsuitability for blending in on Earth. You can find all sorts of nonsense by biasing Google search terms.

I have to vote blue, 'cos the character of Hotspot is blue in my mind.
And, you know, fire engines shoot water, and water is.... clear....

I like to think every vote for blue is a vote of support for me
And everyone voting against blue is a hater who is only voting because they hate me

Look at Lego. We all trust Lego. Is there a blue Lego fire engine? NO: They're all red, unless they're an airport Fire Engine which is yellow. Here's how it works: Proper Fire Engines: Red
Airport Fire Engines: Yellow
Military Fire Engines: Green
Crimes against nature which are only different to be contrary: Any other colour, including blue One Transformer Fire Engine toy has been all four of these colours. Robot points are available for the user who identifies it!

Nope - I just checked the wiki. (I also thought of Firebot, but he is also lacking a green version - but does come in blue)

I really want to work this out but am giving up. Probably a BotShot toy as I don't know them all - but if it's something obvious like Inferno... I just can't think of a green fire engine.

How are you defining "Transformer Fire Engine toy"?
The CW Hot Spot mould has been all of those colours - Hot Spot (blue), G2 Onslaught (yellow), Inferno (red) and Pyra Magna (Green), but as Onslaught it isn't strictly speaking a fire engine.

There's a flaw in the lego logic, in that a lego model can be any color you want, so long as you have the pieces.
