This is the fanzine I chose to read first, Though much of G2 in the nineties I cursed. It was too bleak and depressing for me, It simply wasn't my cup of tea.
And the less said about Manny Galan the better, Though Yaniger was clearly some kind of trend-setter. The speech balloons were very disco But look what they did to San Francisco!
What I'm trying to say is this, Although at the time it was less hit than miss. If only the story had been written in verse It would have given more laughter, for better or worse.
Hachette may claim to be publishing the definitive G1. (Though we've all pointed out the things they got wrong.) But for me, on my bookshelf, I today inform you 'Vast Bird' is the definitive (and only) G2.
