I no longer work at Toys'r'us. Yesterday was my last shift. It is over. Finished! But Good. As the Fur-man would say. Congrats on surviving thy final shift (and the preceeding ones) with your sanity intact. It is quite a change, but I have every confidence that you will be fine. For me yesterday was the Public Transport of Doom I had forgotten that it was the first weekend of an Edinburgh Festival, and so when I tried to get on a train to go to Edinburgh it was packed to the "breathing in shifts" stage. And the only way to get off at Haymarket as planned was to stand on my own feet as I pushed my way through people, because there was nowhere else to put my feet down.... (and thank you kindly to the young woman who told me as I was trying to get off at Haymarket "Don't worry, we'll all get off at Edinburgh" (meaning Edinburgh Waverley, the stop after the one I was going to which is perhaps less helpful than one might thinkl....). Still not as badly off as the poor kid ahead of me, who got his head shoved against the partition as folk pushed people into the train at Linlithgow to squash them up because they wanted to get on and their wasn't room for them. The journey back at 9.30pm, whilst not quite as bad was still standing room only in a train warm enough to double as a sauna. Such fun. Fortunately it was quieter on the train this morning so I was able to get a sit down and a sleep. Karl
